Good morning all, @CaliforniaLori, you must drop out like a light when you go to bed at night. You certainly do put a lot into your day. @shiney hope your back and shoulder is better today.
Have a good day everyone, take it easy and stay safe and well. God bless :wub2:

      Hope everyone is well.:)

Bloomin cold here, had wanted to get into the greenhouse to check things over but can't motivate myself to face the cold. It was bad enough going out to our mail box to retrieve my gardening magazine!!
Instead I've stamped all our Xmas cards and will wander down our lane and post them this afternoon. That just leaves the really local ones for delivering by hand.

Enjoy your day and keep safe.:spinning:

        Good day
Another day of rushing around has started. Yes, @moyra my body is ready for bed early but my brain keeps whirling so I read a book for an hour or so to relax and drop off.

@Upsydaisy I mailed my cards the other day. I had to buy the international ones twice. They sell them in a little booklet and I bought one a week ago. Then went to the pharmacy to pick up some prescriptions and it must have fallen out of my wallet whilst at their counter. So, I stamped all my domestic cards, took the whole lot to the post office and paid for new international stamps and affixed them on the spot! ;)

Sam is liking playing with small sewing projects so we stopped at the fabric shop and bought some more Christmas themed cottons for her to make face masks and sleeping masks.

Got to get out the door to go see a client.

Have a lovely day all :coffee:

          Aloha everyone,

I've been having slight discussions with the company that was supposed to empty my tank/cesspit. They took payment 11 days ago and say they will do the job within seven working days. They work six days a week so should have emptied it three days ago. On day nine I phoned and they said they should be here yesterday morning. When they didn't turn up I phoned and they said they had an emergency job and had to drop mine but would be here this morning. They phoned this morning to say that the driver for this area is off sick but they would be here on Saturday. I told them that they wouldn't be as I now want my money back and I'll get someone else to do the job. They said they would refund it if I send them an email asking for it and they got that two minutes later. The new company is £60 cheaper as they calculate it on a different basis!

Very cold and foggy today but the sun came out for a short while at lunchtime. So I delayed my lunch and did some clearing in the garden.

By 4 p.m. the car was frozen over with solid ice. Fortunately I don't need it until Thursday. :)

          Keep well

          Aloha!

            Good evening everyone

@moyra I'm sorry your rash is taking such a long time to heal. Maybe it stings a lot because the new skin is tender. I hope it will ease off soon for you.

It sounds like Sam is enjoying being creative @CanadianLori  It's good to get into the Christmas spirit ...

I don't blame you for not wanting to go to the garden today @Upsydaisy, it's too cold. Nice that you're getting your cards done. Mine are done and posted too, only neighbours left to do now.

That sounds very inconvenient @shiney but probably couldn't be helped. I'm glad you found a cheaper place though.

We buried the casket from my late partner's funeral today, at last. She passed in February and we were lucky to have the funeral before the lockdown, but the burial couldn't be done until now.
It was a surreal experience and I felt as if it wasn't really happening. I'm glad it's done now though.
We'd been together 44 years. It's very strange without her but I feel I can move on now.

                Aloha everyone,

Mrs Shiney has been continuing to make more Christmas wreaths and swags and has just had an order for three more. We're posting off a swag to someone who lives the other side of the country, no charge, as he wants it to put on his wife's grave as she died earlier this year. Someone we know has given us a box that she had flowers delivered in, which has overcome the major problem.

I don't know whether I mentioned it but someone who moved from the village after his wife had died, to be nearer his children, has sent our charity a £300 pound donation from the Stock Exchange charity that he helps run (he always gave us a personal donation). His charity is there to support small charities that don't get any national support. He has also contacted an ex-neighbour to give us a large bag of big conifer cones from his old garden. We're picking them up on Friday. :blue thumb:

                Keep well

                Aloha!

                  Hello everyone!

Slightly milder today ,currently at 3C.

Really must venture into the greenhouse to check on my overwintering babies today.

Went over to my brother's yesterday taking along some decorations to brighten up his lounge. He hasn't bothered with them before as he was always over at our parents place .....I always use to put loads up there for them.

Might go for a walk later and hand deliver all our local cards .....then again I might not....me and plans!!!:heehee:

                  Have a lovely ,safe day.:spinning:

                      Good day
It is still fairly dark but I believe that it is snowing, a light snow so nothing much to shovel.

@moyra I am so glad to hear the rash is letting up. :dbgrtmb:

I got the dryer venting fixed yesterday and now can get back to doing everyone's laundry. It was a bit of a pain having to cut out some of the wall board and install a new section but now all is working great.:blue thumb:

I finished all the books I had downloaded so I shall borrow some more today. I love to read before falling asleep. :)

Today is the last day I will barbecue. I've got some hamburgers to grill and when I'm done that, I'll be covering it up for the winter. Barbecuing in sub freezing conditions isn't all that much fun

I hope everyone has a great day :coffee:

Good morning, I spoke too soon the rash has broken out further up and down my arms and legs. I am going to ring 111 to see if I can get a doctors visit as I am still shielding since last March.
I hope you are all now ok? Have a good day and stay safe and well. God bless. :wub2:

Oh dear @moyra . So sorry to hear about your rash breaking out again.

Moyra , although I fully understand that you need to be careful, you do realise that there is no shielding at the moment ..do you?
My sister and brother are vulnerable, especially my brother, and were placed in the shielding group during the first lockdown and although they have retained their priority shopping slots they do not have to shield anymore. You can go out and depending on what tier your area is in you can get on with your everyday life, albeit a bit different now. Just keep masked up and a safe distance from others. You should have received a letter explaining all this, my brother got a 2nd and updated one earlier this week. If a Dr's visit proves hard to get you could certainly attend an appointment at the surgery, no problem ,especially as I believe you drive..so you'll be quite safe.
Really hope that you get it cleared up soon.....for good.
                          Take care.:wub2:

@moyra I hope you get in to see a doctor quickly and yes, AS @Upsydaisy says, you are allowed to move about. Anyone tells you otherwise is perhaps maybe just a bit too controlling?

Sam is holding her own. Her half sister is coming for a sleepover tomorrow night and so today I shall be getting a room freshened up for her stay and then carry on with the rest of the cleaning. I think Sam plans to teach her how to sew a mask and other little craftsy stuff :)

                            Cheers :coffee:

@moyra Upsy is correct and shielding is no longer necessary unless you have received a recent letter from your doctor stating specifically that you must shield. This is the government page about it. Guidance on shielding and protecting people who are clinically extremely vulnerable from COVID-19

Doctors will usually give you an initial telephone appointment before seeing you. Visiting the surgery is now very well organised and done so that you are not sitting in a crowd of people. Especially as doctors only see people when really necessary. Mrs Shiney has to go for her diabetic checks, blood test etc., and she has had a set time to be there (asked to wait in the car park until very close to her appointment time) and similarly to the eye clinic for her diabetic eye test.

                              Good luck with it. :grphg:

                              Keep well

                              Aloha!

It’s been a hectic busy week at at work, we get a lot of patients go into panic mode in the lead up to Xmas, it’s a shame because it spoils it for us . A little birdie neighbor told us that our next door but one has ran into our fence, brokeen it and not said anything  they’ve only been here for eight months and the husband has ripped our neighbors small conifers up to put there three cars there :yikes:, I’m counting the days down to when we get out of here, can’t wait!!!
