I took over an allotment this year. The raspberry canes provided some incredible fruit, but whoever planted them in intially put down a load of small stones over the bed they're planted in. I'm sure they looked great initially but this year, almost weekly, I found myself pulling lots of weeds from between the stones. So my question is...how do I do a good thorough weeding between the stones :love30: its proving very tricky!! I've not used any form of weedkiller on my patch, and especially couldn't spray around the canes!

Can you not just scrape the stones out from around the canes and get rid of them? then you can mulch the raspberry canes with a good manure and they'll be great.

There's a load of stones, and some of them are pretty well trod in there..but you're right. I may well have to do this at some point. I want to get some ericaceous compost in there. I've heard it will do them well!! Thanks Snorky

I found something like this tool very useful in cleaning weeds from between paving on a driveway before and it might be useful in the area described as well.

Pulling weeds or plants in general from between stones should be easy. Soory. Very tired and in lots of pain at the moment. Nite nite.
