What a beautiful day!!!

Hope you're all well today.

Laundry finally sunning itself out on the line, hair cut this afternoon.

Had a hectic day yesterday with my brother + a Dr"s appointment.
Sorted out, medication, booked xrays, assessment of needs, requested referral to Social Presciber, and all future monthly blood tests sorted. All for my brother I hasten to add...not for me.
I have also sent an email request for an Adult Social Worker to contact me to go over how best I can meet and support his needs, now and in the future.

All in all a positive and productive few days....feeling a lot happier now that I have managed ( hopefully ) to kick start some back-up....as I hadn't really the faintest idea of what to do or where to get help....I was like a headless chicken running around in circles before.

It is fairly light and cold. Lots of clouds and 18f.

Sam is still snoozing so I'm doing my best to keep silent with my few chores. I called my new wine guy and go next week to package it and bring it home. And I've got to make another batch of royal icing for Sam to finish decorating the gingerbread cookies. She loves tnat kind of activity and I know it keeps her from moving about too much. We both win!

I did finish baking the last five types of cookies yesterday and the gingerbreads are the last ones to prepare for the trays

@Upsydaisy I haven't been to a hairdresser in 20 years. Every couple of months I brush it into a pnytail at the nape of my neck and hack off a couple of inches. Well, not hack as I have these huge sharp sheers that are really meant for cutting upholstery fabric. If it can cut horsehair fabric it can cut my mane!

Only a few more days and the days will start getting longer and I'm looking forward to that. I know most here get an hour less sunlignt in winter than me (46° parallel) so I have no case for moaning. If you could split off some of tne gulf stream and send up the Laurentian to me, it would be wonderful...

As you may recall I am a hairdresser Lori so I do ,occasionally, cut mine too inbetween booked appointments . I have mine cut, normally, every 6 weeks as it grows fast and having short hair it soon grows out of shape. An ex colleague and a good friend of nearly 40 years cuts mine....and always stays a couple of hours for a good natter and solving of all worldwide problems!!

 

You @Upsydaisy and @shiney share the same trade. Funny, any time I've offered to cut someone's hair, they've declinèd

I loved my trade, managed a salon for years, then began looking into buying my own. Found a lovely one in the heart of the New Forest....but then decided to have a family instead!

Good day
It is still pitch but the guessers say it will be a sunny day and up to 28f. Right now it is 15f. Very chilly this morning taking the the recycle bins to the kerb. Whilst wearing my jammies. Brrrr.

@shiney and @Upsydaisy my hair is very curly and very very dry so I try to wash it only a few times a week. If I don't straighten it, I look like a character from "Quest for Fire" after the first day. I used to use a straightening iron but it dried my hair even more even with lots of dressing on it and hence ultra frizz. So now I just wrap it around my head until it dries. Takes all morning to dry so some planning needed.

Sam is still asleep and I'll, let her lie in until 9ish. Then she needs to be up and getting ready to go alpacawalking. I'll do a little laundry and tidying before we go and when we get back I'll start assembling the cookies trays. There's just a few gingerbread me left to decorate and they can be slipped on top at the end.

im going to do my Xmas wrapping this am while my hubby is at work, then if the weather is fine we want to fix our fence that our next door but one has broke, they haven’t owned upto it but a little birdie told us that they did it and also pulled my neighbors conifers up behind there garden , they only moved in 8 months ago and think they own the area with all three cars
