Good morning everyone, how are you all doing today.

Hopefully a quieter day here for us @Flumpy. Yesterday morning we did a big food shop and now have most things for Xmas. I'm going into town on Tuesday to meet up with a friend so 'fresh items' will be bought then. Yesterday afternoon was mostly making and receiving brother related phone calls.
The ground here is so waterlogged ,not sure if much can be done in the garden at the moment but I will go and have a closer look in a minute. First though I have just 2 ( brother related) calls to make this morning.

I share your pain @shiney , as I had forgotten to take my glasses with me when we went shopping, I volunteered to do the trolley pushing, not just because I couldn't see clearly but to be kind ( so I thought) to my painful leg...I had totally underestimated the effect it would have on my bad arm( wrist, lower arm bone, and elbow) . Hubs was brilliant and I just 'parked' in a convenient spot in each aisle while he dashed here there and everywhere gathering up all the items on our list, but in the end he had to take over as I really couldn't cope with steering it amongst the other shoppers. Today all I can do is hold something in my right hand, can't move my wrist or elbow without yelping out in pain. Trying ( with varying degrees of success) to use my left arm more.:dbgrtmb:

Hope all is well with our cheeky @Guy Greening ...all is suspiciously quiet, hope he's not up to mischief!!;)

Have a super duper day everyone.:spinning:

      Good day
It is still pitch here so I can't tell what the sky is featuring today. Very cold 14f. But it is going to warm up a little.

Sorry to hear that you, @Upsydaisy and you, @shiney are in sick bay. I hope your limbs start heal up quickly.

Sam is really tired today. We did go alpaca walking yesterday and at the last ten minutes she starting getting ill. With the farmer's permission, I ran back to my van and drove out into the field to pack her in and let her recline and recover. It was a little too taxing but in spite of being sick, she had a wonderful time. Any time her mask wasn't in place, her smile went from ear to ear :)

She will be laying in this morning and resting up. I will be meeting one of the fellows who helped me out last year with finding homes for all of the model train equipment. I will treat him to breakfast and give him a tray of my Christmas cookies as a thank you.

Then when I get home, I start assembling the rest of the trays of cookies. It takes about 2 hours and I don't have time to do that before I go out.

After that, I will just putter about! :coffee:

Hi Lori, hope Sam is feeling a bit better now, sounds like her energy levels are very low, she will get there eventually, glad she enjoyed her walk :spinning:

@Flumpy Sam is napping. She got up for awhile and decorated the Alpaca shaped ginger cookies I made. I told her that she is just to get well and do nothing strenuous.

She is recovering, albeit at a snail's pace, but I am glad we're going the right direction. :)

Good morning all, It is a shame so many are suffering one way and another, wish you all well.
Have a good day as best you can. Take it easy and above all stay safe and well. God bless. :)

              Good day
@moyra I have been lucky to have pretty good health. That is why I am so easily able to help others :)

It is still pitch here and fairly mild - about 25f.

It's going to be a good week too as the weather won't be getting brutally cold until Christmas eve when we're all snuggled inside.

I have either appointments to get Sam to or my own obligations but there is only one per day. Easy peasy.

The cookie trays are all loaded and ready for porch deliveries. And there is very little shopping to do before Christmas.

Right now I've got the bread machines giving some dough a good beating and they will be finished the pummelling by the time my six episode of my beloved Corrie street start to air this morning. And the commercial breaks are long enough to get a chore done each time they run. Wash the floor or dust or whatever. :dbgrtmb:

How much better does it get than this? Not any!

Have a lovely day all :coffee:

                Aloha everyone,

I've got a fair bit done in the garden as the weather is quite good.

Our brand new neighbours (about three weeks) knocked on the door with a Christmas card and small box of chocolates. The five year old daughter was with him and as I opened the door she gave a big grin and waved at me .

I had dropped a welcome card in to them as they were moving in the other week.

Lots of paperwork to get done :phew:

                Keep well

                Aloha!

Well...we're all in this together....let's turn the cheer levels up a notch to keep all our spirits up.......mine's a whisky....thanks!;)

Grey and wet here , plan to cancel meeting up with my friend in town tomorrow.....too risky as we would have to sit in the outside areas of the cafes in the shopping mall..don't fancy that at all, with all the last minute shoppers passing closely by us. Imo too risky to even contemplate.

Much rather snuggly down here and find a good old black and white Christmas movie to watch...try to watch at least one every Christmas.....life seemed so cosy and uncomplicated back in the 'good old days'....although in reality it wasn't.:)

Have a good day and keeeeeeep........smiling!:bigthumb:

                        Good day
I really like the old Christmas movies. Saturday night I watched The Bishop's Wife and We're no angels. Loads of fun. I always enjoy MIracle on 34th as Edmund Gwenn is a lovely actor to watch.

Only one appointment today for Sam.

I'm a little worried about how it will be for picking up groceries this week as the entire province is going into lockdown on Christmas Eve. But, I guess I'd better put on my shoulder pads and get out there and have the essentials in house before. No binge buying just what's needed.

Have a lovely day all :coffee:

Morning Lori, dreading what's happening in our shops right now. Not only have we the aftermath ( whatever that may be) of Brexit to look forward too we now have the Channel Tunnel problems,( nobody wants to have anything to do with us since this Covid mutation) plus undoubtedly the usual panic buyers causing mayhem due to the new sudden lockdowns.
Thankfully we did our main shop on Friday , fruit and veg store well in our dark cool garage ...and what we haven't got....well ...we'll cope fine without.
Not the end of the world.:dbgrtmb:

Still looking through the tv listings ,can't seem to see any of the good old black and whites.

                            Aloha everyone,

I'm always cheerful - even when I'm practicing at being the grumpy old man :old: :heehee:

I've been busy organising some of the bridge clubs for the 'holiday' period. We're keeping the online bridge clubs open 22nd, 23rd, 24th (Christmas Eve), 29th, 30th, 31st, and 1st of Jan. As people shall be in lockdown they would appreciate being able to have a game of bridge.

I've been writing some instruction manuals/documents and played a county league match this afternoon whilst Mrs S had a Zoom with a friend in Japan.

I'm taking a break in the middle of prepping a chicken and veg stir fry. Lots of fresh ginger, garlic, onion, French beans, carrot, celery, courgette, white cabbage, mushrooms, coriander etc.

We'll watch Celebrity Masterchef this evening.

I'm working on a shopping list for Wednesday morning. I don't think I shall see many shoppers as I intend going between 3 a.m. and 4 a.m. :)

                            Keep well

Good Afternoon @moyra and to all who drop by today, hope you're all keeping well.

Busy morning talking with the DWP , trying to get copies of brother related stuff sorted and copies sent to me. I was in the telephone queue to them yesterday for 53 minutes ..gave up as I hated the piped music.....today they eventually answered my call after just 27 minutes.

Then enjoyed a nice long phone chat with our youngest, such hard times for them all in tier 4.

A grey day here but thankfully very mild, so can't complain.

                                Enjoy all your afternoons.
                                Keep safe. :spinning:
