Well I think it really points out how many people are up front in getting the injection befor they start on the masses.

 

Yes they are banking a lot on the Oxford vaccine being approved, apparently there are 100 million doses on order for the UK.
A few months ago people would have settled for a vaccine that was 50% effective, so the Oxford vaccine at 60 to 70% effectiveness only looks poor in comparison to the Pfizer Moderna vaccine.
My understanding is that the new strain is more infectious, but they don't know yet if it a causes a more serious illness.
All the vaccines so far work by forcing the body to create antibodies to the "spike protein" which the virus "uses" to attach to and then enter human cells.
Scientists are quietly optimistic that all the vaccines will work on the new strain.
Politicians are desperate for it to be so.

 

If they literally mean everyone (18+), try putting that age in and you'll get ....

Just be glad to have the immunity of the jab, then I can get back to cigareets -and whiskeeey - and wild wild womeen !!!! Although I haven't smoked for 20 years, never liked whiskey - and would be petrified if a wild wild women approached me

 

And be prepared for facemasks to be compulsory both in the likes of shops, and outdoors in public spaces, and maybe better quality masks being required.
