6 hours 35 minutes here @pete so not far off and with 2 minutes extra daylight today. :) The temperature is way off though, just 4C/39F. Probably due to the snow that's promised for the rest of the week.

My post related to the sun in the Algarve where Victoria is.
I stated 15 degrees for my location which was possibly a slight rounding up or down.

Well I wasn't sure of your exact location so I guess on Aberdeen.
The degrees measurement is angle of sun at solar noon.

Aberdeen's 100 miles south-east of where I am @pete. My location, well almost, is in my avatar box. :)

              Sun? What sun? :heehee:

Can we do this again at the summer solstice? The figures up here will look so much better. ;)

So I'm looking at this and it appears I have to wait until 15th of Feb before the sun reaches the same strength here as it is in Algarve today.:biggrin:

It's at 12:16 pm as time stamped. The sun doesn't rise higher than 14.7 deg, and is at that elevation between 11:46 and 12:16. I took the screenshot showing at 12:16 to show the sun rises no higher than 14.7 deg.

EDIT: 14.7 Deg elevation does not necessarily mean it's not changing for 30 mins, as it could be anything between 14.650 and 14.749 and rounded to 1 decimal place.

It's amazing what you talk about when you can't get out into the garden to work! :roflol:

Most of my friends are only interested in whether the sun rises over the yardarm! :ccheers: :loll: (For you youngsters, it's a nautical expression )
