I think you're right, strongy, but things seem to be out of kilter because of the effects of climate change so I've got Bees, Gnats and Flies still around:doh:. My Hedgehogs are still not in hibernation and still wander past me when I'm sitting in the Arbour which is why I was thinking reptiles even though they need some Sun to charge themselves up:dunno:
Anyway, I've set the camera up to cover the area where the disturbance was and we'll see if I can record anything.:cat-kittyandsmiley::coffee:.

You maybe right about the weather altering living patterns, Grass snakes may still be around and they can stay submerged for 20 minutes or so. Our Hedgehogs are still coming but should be hibernating by now and lots of insects still flying, hope you will find out.

The boil of water was far too big, Snorky:dunno:, Great Crest Newts which can get up to around just over 6" (17cm) length, but good thinking:love30::thumbsup:, although I do have some Newts that were given to me because where they were was far too dangerous for them to survive.

Could it possibly be a pocket of trapped air under the pot, released when you moved it? Or Newts? Maybe Fern has taken up scuba diving? Let's hope it's not the creature from the black lagoon:heehee:.

Well, the bulge of water moved away from the large pot to about a foot away and the mass of bubbles was in a completely separate area to the shelf on which the pot was on. I'm also in the habit of, every year moving the Marginal plants around and never, ever, seen anything like that before.:dunno: I see the Newts now and then and, believe me, they may raise a bubble but not a large bulge in the water and all that prolonged mass of bubbles.

Hi Jiffy, I'm using a older version of the Browning Recon Trail Camera but there are a lot better and upgraded cameras out there. I like the one I have, but it needs a lot of batteries and eats them fairly quickly so I'm thinking of upgrading to a another one. There are so many out there now and all of high quality so you'll have to do a bit of research and see what fits your needs and budget.
As an aside, I've not recorded anything in the pond as yet, although there are plenty of birds being recorded drinking from the pond.

I've been gradually tidying up the part of the garden where we put (dump) pots and trays and I came across a tiny shrew. :)

As I was removing leaves from a stack of multi cell garden trays I saw it asleep in the bottom of one cell. I really didn't know what to do with it but it couldn't stay there so I moved the tray to alongside the hedge and shook it to wake it up. It slowly woke up, looked around, saw me standing over it and climbed out and went into the hedge. It's body was no more than an inch and a half. :). Hopefully the hedge will suit it perfectly. It's over 100ft long, 4ft wide and the ivy under it is about 4" deep. :blue thumb:
