-6c hard frost and everything is white and crispy

was a bit of fog earlier.

 

Well I'm back in the land of the living after having a huge Oak tree fall down just past our house in the early hours of Sunday morning. No electricity, phones or internet, house.....was a tad nippy!!!

Today's high is 3 with a -3 tonight. We have an ice warning in place too.

 

A bright and sunny start to the day, 5c going to 15c and no and quite still.

 

Mmmmm 15c..... :happyhot:

 

.....What!!!....it's changed!!! Own up who's pinched one of our degrees...down to a high of 2C now!!!

 

That is jeans and sweater weather here!

It's colder than yesterday

 

We are up to 13c and T'other Half has just lit the wood fire even though heat unit is on. It is nice and sunny out but I will be a wuss and stay snug indoors.

 

Coldest night yet last night minus 1c.
Only plus 1c now but sunny.

 

People tend to think we get it milder down here in the south, but that's not really so often find temps get milder as you head north at this time of year. Certainly seems the case at the moment. We're hovering on 1C here now, London 2, Cardiff 3 Birmingham, Manchester are at 2.....even Scotland is ranging between 3 and 5. It's a myth we aren't softie southerners.....my hands are like blocks of ice as I write!!

 

I know my area just gets blurred in with London most of the time.
They stick 5C on the weather map, but there isn't anywhere south of London, ...is there?

So often slightly warmer on the coast and I'm in the bit in the middle, so the stated 5c has only been 2.5 to 3c here in the last few days, but today is colder at 1c.

A nd dont even think about a NE wind.

 

I'm near (ish ) to the coast...still very cold. Some say we get sheltered by the IOW....not necessarily so. Often cold strong winds hit the IOW and ricochet over our way....hence the big Oak tree felled last weekend.

 

All of a sudden we went overcast, Van came in sluihtly dampish ... then the heavens opened up ... not forecast at all! Still grey but I can see the sun going down through the trees out back (West). Very strange day indeed.

 

Clear sky and no wind or breeze at all.
Temp -1 it was still frosty where the sun didn't reach.
