I have a gardening puzzle (1000 pieces), present from sister in law. Went well until the end when there were a number of gaps and a handful of pieces that didn't fit anywhere. Closer examination revealed the spare pieces were from a different jigsaw. Suspect sister in law had bought it from charity shop, lid was only held on with a couple of bits of tape.

Vacuumed all the 2020 dust out of my house. Washed all of the 2020 grime out of the clothes. Threw all of the 2020 baked goods in the recycle bin. Washed 2020 out of my hair.

Just generally got rid of 2020 leftovers. Well almost.

I did not throw out the last of 2020's wine. I will continue consuming that at my normal pace  I kept my seeds collected in 2020. And I hope I retained my lessons learned in 2020!

So, I take it 2020 wasn't a good year for you Lori.

Truthfully I can't say I have heard of anyone as having had a good 2020. My old oppo from our police days sadly lost his wife to bowel cancer. His health rapidly went down the drain and last I heard, and we have remained friends for the past 60 yrs. That he's taken some tablets and was in hospital. Since then zilch.
Another professional friend. His wife found another guy and divorced him.

My closest mate. He was diagnosed with pancreactic cancer. Turned out too bad to operate. Infact I can't recall hearing any good uplifting news for 2020. Even forum friends have had a bad year. Thankfully GC has been our, well, for me. My haven to escape to.

Sad news today via my daughter Kerry. Four New Forest ponies were hit by a Range Rover New Years night. Seems the ponies were licking up the salt on the road.

I thought about doing some of the cleaning and tidying that needed to be done in the house - but I sat down for a while and got over it. :roflol:

Same here with deep-cleaning the kitchen floor. I'll be making lemon curd later, so really not worth it :)

Same theme here as well, I finally cleared some cupboards. It was fun, we found a lot of treasures that The Teenager confiscated, and decided to start using my parents' wedding silver cutlery rather than just keep it in a box. It's very pretty and contrasts nicely with our rather modern style. :)

Also found a tablecloth embroidered by my great grandmother (no, it's not that ancient, she lived a long life so this is from 1970s) and took it out to be used. Who's going to enjoy it if it spends yet another decade in a box?

Today it's home office (also known as the spare room/ cuttings and plant overflow room/ gaming room/ DVD watching snug/ the place where bulky stuff lives/ ironing parlour/ total mess) clear out day. More treasures I hope :)

I read that too, and three Donkeys a few days earlier on the same road ... and the number for the year, how very sad! I loved seeing them on our journeys through there.

We decided to use our wedding cutlery (from 1968) when we moved here in 2001! Have only used the fine bone china and crystal glasses a couple of times but can't bear to part with it. Have not used the lace tablecloth since we left the IoW in 2001.

I've nabbed a big silver cutlery set that my parents had ,I have think it belonged originally to my Great Uncle and Aunt but sadly their only child died so my Mum inherited it. Not sure when I'll used it ..but to me it's treasured.

I was going to continue working in the utility, but with sleet showers couldn’t get power tools out. Instead we have put all the Christmas decorations away and cleaned the house. I then took the kids out for a 2 hour walk whilst my wife was working. We played car football whilst we were out. You count moving cars that pass you, until you get to a white car and then it is the next persons turn. First to 100 wins. My son and I got 98 each and daughter 99. We have to continue next time we are out. Good fun though. Having a cuppa, then need to drop some clothes off to someone local who will pass them on to a local charity for disadvantaged kids. Then I’m going to turn the compost into the other bay before dinner.

Muttered and puttered and ate too much.

I just couldn't settle into one activity. So I baked an apple pie, sewed some sleep shorts for Sam, sorted through half of the jigsaw puzzle pieces for edges, tried to fix a problem with my printer (and now it not only does not print cayenne, nothing else does either, not even black), cut out fabric for two more tops and lastly, sat here having a red wine spritzer.

Looking at tomorrow's to do list, well, luckily I write it in pencil and have a lovely big eraser. I think I will let the day and my mood lead me.

And no, the list did not have a note to hire a scribe now that I have wrecked my printer... :heehee:
