Surprising, I'm sure there must have been some in the corn field out back or the wheat field over the road.;)

I checked my area against the area twelve miles away where I lived previously. I now live rurally and before was on the edge of Inverness. The figures were exactly the same. :th scifD36:

          Official UK Coronavirus Dashboard

People tested positive in 7 days to 2nd Jan 341,946, up 88,320 (+34.8%)

          Tests conducted in 7 days to 30th Dec 2,547,230 down 479,224 (-15.8%)

That's potentially worrying, tests down 15.8%, but positive tests up 34.8%.

I guess it could be because of all the schools being on holiday and a big increase in non-school age infections. Wonder if there's loads of asymptomatic school age cases wandering around and not getting tested because their schools are shut?

Have you added them all up? The total should come to 82,624

The figures appear to be wrong, outdated or both. It gives 3 deaths since March for my local ward which has 10% of the population of the District LA where deaths are currently running at over 1 a day, and pro-rata that would be over 3 deaths for my local ward in just one month.

EDIT: Mrs Scrungee remembers 6 deaths in our local ward back in May last year. These are all missing.

As we are on the border of four district councils (one of the borders runs through our garden :rolleyespink:) I have checked on all of them. The numbers vary quite a bit but the thing that seems to remain fairly constant is that the recent cases of infection for those below the age of 60 has risen at over twice the rate of those over 60.

It would seem to indicate that the under 60's are not taking as much care as the over 60's - but that is for the statisticians to make their conclusions. :noidea:

Overall, I don't really take much notice and don't try to come to conclusions. I just keep myself away from other people as much as possible.

I'm still getting a little work done in the garden (too cold to do too much) and that should increase in about a month's time. From then onwards we shall find plenty to do out there. Gardening as a hobby has come into its own

That interactive date for totals is incorrect! It says no deaths in my area - my neighbour had been in hospital for over a month after an accident and was well on the mend....when she caught Covid, which led to death.

Mrs Scrungee alerted me to the dates for vaccinations going back one day every day. This is like those joke 'free beer tomorrow' signs, but it's no joke because if this continues we'll never get vaccinated.

We have some retirement homes around us and it seems the Thing has spread there. Very sad.

The same in our village, there have been many more deaths than the 4 on the interactive map
