Well it certainly is an unusual surname, or rather I should say I've never heard it before. That should help with genealogy.

I stick to oven chips. I only use my oven (electric) if i'm doing a cassarole. I have a halogen oven, large glass bowl type. I find it's great. I also have an electric slow cooker pan thingy. Never used it yer. It will do most things and came with the wire whatsit for deep fried chips. Being on my own. I go for the cheapest, and quickest and the least washing up.

I used to have one of those saucepan fryers that you put on the hob with a lot of oil/ lard in it, the oil or lard would stay in the saucepan when not in use but we stopped having chips. 3 years ago i fractured my knee didn't need an operation but i had to have a full leg plaster on it to stop me bending my knee for 6 weeks. So hubby had to do the cooking and i had to think of some easy things to cook so we had breaded chicken breast with oven chips and baked beans.

I really did enjoy your post and there is my husband asking me what is on in Lidls then....and me stuck in the PC writing here..haha....very interesting and I could easily read up all day on Ancestors....we have a huge number of twins mainly on Husbands side so after ours were born in 1969 we had to take some drastic actions:yikes:...

I absolutely love looking back through time at my ancestry too Dianne :dbgrtmb:, I can spend hours going through it all. 10years ago when I had a 3 mth recovery period after surgery I decided to compile my family tree on my mother's side as an Uncle had already done my father side......I loved doing it and looking though all the old documentation.....I was so surprised at how emotional I found it all, especially on actually coming across their signatures on the birth ,marriage records....sadly some couldn't even write ( early 1800's) and signed with just a cross. I managed to go back to 1650....then hit a block in record keeping, I even spent time staying in London searching out some of their old addresses but again like the records a lot were destroyed in the war. I became really 'attached to my Great Great Grandma's lifestory of having to bring up all her children alone after my GGGrandpa died......tracked down where she found work...not far from where 2 of our sons are now living. Found many sad stories, it was a shame my Mum never got to see her family tree from centuries ago.....she would've been really interested too.:dbgrtmb:

French and one of the French Ancestry sites has been an eyeopener....Aumoniers are around this area and another even larger Aumonier Family Group in the Saone-et-Loire which is far east central around Macon. Aumonier mean Chaplain so sometimes it causes issues....I go back to the 1500 so far but false information with so many Pierres Williams Thomas..If a family lost a baby or child they often would name a future newborn with the same name...one family there was around 4 Pierres and another had 18 children...

Same here...lots of Alfreds.....and sadly stillbirth and infant deaths. I had one Grandma that lived in the same area and during the same time as Jack The Ripper...I went back there too to find the address....it was a dark alley way between to buildings...most 'ordinary ' people lived in one or two rooms with shared amenities back in the 1700, 1800's in London....but a dark dingy alley and Jack the Ripper!!!!!:yikes::yikes:

                    Near neighbours

I was born only 13 miles from there - the room I was born in overlooked the Derwent. :blue thumb:

Nice story that, I get very excited over it and have no blood connections. Example...We purchased our 1st Brand New Vehicle a Nissan Quashqai the nearest we can buy here to an all terrain type(we have still have on the driveway he a L200 Truck dying to go out for a trip... but we have been refused re-registration so not permitted on the French Roads..big upset but history now...
Well we went to an area to collect it and all these place names were appearing like a dream and I honestly got really emotional ..Husband could not get it...and the more place names I saw that I recognised I just thought how lucky we are to have purchased this vehicle in this area of France...Yes the vehicle was now taking 2nd place :spinning:so soon.

Sounds like my kind of chippie! Mind you, I can't eat as much as I used to - in fact, I am (slowly) losing weight, so I will be ex-Fat controller...(hopefully)

The envelope isn't important, it's what inside that counts :):love30:
