    I am wondering if theirs anyone here who can help me to find a particular book.
    The Artist Alphonse Muchas interests me very much (no pun intended)
    I love his style and from this I do my own style in art. But Ive been told about a particular book of his sketches .,line drawings..I don't think their is any colour.

    Just that he couldn't 'remember the title..I'm only able to look on the internet in preloved book shops.the problem here is that they don't explain much of what is in the books content.

    I would be very grateful for even a little info.

    Below is the type of thing I find in many book shops on the internet. the manuscript ,I wonder if it's what I need to be looking at??????
    But I understood it was for the sketch pad .???????
    Which does not tell me anything ......less I have it wrong.

      @Purple Streaks
      I like his posters and decorative works, the later oil paintings are a bit heavy for my liking.
      Googled alphonse mucha sketchbook and found this

        Yes Nigel I can agree with you it's mainly his
        Art Nouveau era which intrests me.
        I had read that he was only interested in the faces of his models. He would then add the flowing dress and long hair finish his paintings as he liked in his own Art Nouveau style.

        Their is quite a collection of books ,the one which his son Jiri wrote has been said of being the most intresting.

          If anyone can supply it Purple Streaks, Foyles of London probably will. If they haven't got it in stock they may be able to order it for you. Here's a link to your artist at Foyles....

            The problem I'm having is I'm trying to see a sample of the contents.many show the finished paintings which can be pulled up on the internet.it's the black and white sketches .
            This is something which builds up from scratch the first part of a drawing

            Amazon is good, (filter the calendars etc out), usually you can peek into the books to see if it's a match, and then check if it's available cheaper from a different seller ;)

            Wiki only lists these under bibliography:
            • Thiébaut, Philippe (2018). Mucha et l'Art Nouveau (in French). Paris: Éditions du Chêne. ISBN 978-2-81231-806-1.
            • Tierchant, Hélène (2009). Sarah Bernhardt- Madame Quand même (in French). Paris: SW Télémaque. ISBN 978-2-7533-0092-7.
            • Sato, Tamako (2015). Alphonse Mucha - the Artist as Visionary. Cologne: Taschen. ISBN 978-3-8365-5009-3.
            His home museum is in Prague, a lovely place to visit.

            Good luck with the hunt!

            @Purple Streaks
            If I understand correctly you are looking for the Mucha equivalent of the Da Vinci cartoon at the National Gallery Leonardo da Vinci | The Burlington House Cartoon | NG6337 | National Gallery, London
            or the Raphael Cartoon in the V&A V&A · Raphael Cartoons
            In that case I would contact the museum in Prague Selleri mentions their archives are the most likely place I can think of.
