Mrs H had a good idea. All the bouncers, sorry door management staff, who supervised the club and pub doors, could be employed on the Supermarket doors. The idiots can then argue with them, not the poor shop assistants.:blue thumb:

Good idea, but this would cost the poor supermarkets money, got to think about their profits

I am inclined to go along with many, who continue to say. The wording of the rules is not positive enough. Just my thought on the matter. If you are outside of your home, on a bus, train bicycle whatever, and or in a shop. You will by law, wear a face covering.

I hear a lot about face covering exemptions. If I was still a police officer. I'd ask for proof, that the individual has a breathing problem, whilst having ciggy smoke puffed into my face.

I had a similar discussion, before Christmas, with Tesco H.O. about staff not wearing masks. One time I went in there I counted 17 staff, out of 52, not wearing masks. I also spoke to the manager about it. I said that if they are exempt then they should be required to show proof to their employer (not the public) as any employer is entitled to ask why someone is not complying with company or national rules.

H.O. said that if they claim they are exempt the employer can't do any more. The manager was less polite (he had obviously received messages from H.O. about the four complaints I put in) and just said to "how do you know they aren't exempt?" I just replied that it seemed highly unlikely that one third of staff come into the exempt category and couldn't see why they could not show the employer some proof.

After the manager had gone (I'd spoken to him in the middle of the store) I had some of the masked members of staff come up to me and say "well done" as they feel very unsafe near the ones without masks. They told me that they knew that most of them didn't come into the exempt category - had heard them talking.

When in there this week, after all the fuss in the media, there were only two without masks.

I know people who are exempt and they have all shown their employers notes from their GP's. :blue thumb:

They had one poor staff member in Morrisons holding up a sign with an arrow on it pointing to the checkouts, in lockdown one, that went on for weeks.
Now I know its not that persons fault, but £10 an hour to hold up a sign.
Could easily have replaced them with a post and some sticky tape.

Has anyone noticed that supermarket staff are not, "staff" any more.
                    They are "Colleagues" now.

I dont know really, it is a bit of an insult to that persons intelligence to get them standing there like that.
Dont think any of the management ever took their turn with the sign.

Or as we used to say in the Council - "I'm going on a 5 minute work break". Which is second to the most popular saying - "There's a danger that we will have to do some work here - let's have a meeting".
