Yesterday I got an under the sink metal storage shelf that I put to one side ( for a rainy day) . Cut up cardboard to cover the shelves ( to stop things falling through).
I then sellotaped plastic takeaway trays ( extra security).... keep up !!

I then sorted all my vegetable seeds into alphabetical order and type. After that ( which actually didn't take that long) l started on my flower seeds.
    Sorting into month of propagation.
Today I then sorted these seeds into alphabetical order within the month envelope. Yay...:hapflower::yes:

After lunch l went for a dental appointment.... Wrong day... it's tomorrow:whistle:.

Now sitting putting the finishing touches on my crocheted Medusa toy.

Started saving Egg water, yes, you boil an Egg and let the water cool and decant it.
I use it sometimes on the plants.
Does anyone else do this, or have I lost the plot:scratch:

Well, I would probably use it only on a Egg Plant, John:dunno:

It helps add calcium to the soil so good for a lot of fruits and some veg - mainly green veg but some others.

I can see the logic in that, but the leaching of Calcium by boiling an egg must so minute that it would need a mass boiling of Ostrich eggs, or the like, to get a decent percentage of calcium to boiled water.:doh:

@shiney, I seem to remember you saying you were trialling Firestorm last year. I assume from this years order you are happy with them, so any pointers please? I haven't bought my runners yet.

Still nothing happening here in the garden and I'm starting to get a little stir crazy. It's now a couple of months since I was able to do anything outside because of the weather and it's unlikely to get any better before February ticks round. More snow this evening on top of snow that isn't thawing.

:rain: and more :rain: with sleet shower and hailstones ( there's a surprise ) and then yesterday there was some :hotsun: in the morning. Toss up between garden or bike ride. Bike ride won :heehee:. I did wash two of the bird feeders and put fresh water in the bird baths. That Buzzard was watching me from the top of a telegraph like in the field. Also, checked some of the hedgehog houses.

@Sheal Reports back from people that I sold the plants to were good. They're a cross between a runner and a French, climb just as well as runners but have a smoother, slightly plumper bean that is a little bit shorter than Polestar that I was growing previously.

They survived our hot, dry spells slightly better than Polestar and continued to crop over a week longer than Polestar. I don't know how they would react to your climate. They have been given top marks by Which? Gardening magazine.

We did trials for Which? of a different one in 2020 that were a newer bicoloured one (can't remember the name at the moment) but weren't impressed.

We're using the white flowered White Lady as well this year as they have also got top marks and are supposed to withstand hot droughts better. Hot droughts are a problem down here.
