    Hi @ricky101
I put one table spoonful in a ten litre watering can and give each plant half a litre once a week. I use a jug full of very hot water to dissolve the treacle, pour that into the watering can otherwise it takes forever to dissolve.
    regards Sandy

here is a typical pic of my toms
      Hi @ricjy101
Here is an old picture of my plants grown using that compost mix, as you will see there are no issues with distance between trusses Beefmaster[1].JPG

        Hi @sandymac ,

They look perfect, wish we could get as many trusses per foot!

Interesting to see your large pots on a soil bed, are those pots bottomless, more like a ring culture method, or just the normal drainage holes ?

A type of ring culture with several one inch holes in bottom allowing pots to be moved easily before they are put in final bed without all potting mix falling out, soil under pots is a mix of compost and garden soil

I also use Molasses in previous years, cheap to buy from country stores as it's used as a supplement for horses. I ran a trial and found it increased the sugar content of treated plants significantly. The problem I have is the sweet smell attracted vermin into my greenhouse so I stopped using it.

I spray my tomato plants with a dilute solution of aspirin when they have been planted out and are established. This also causes the plants to produce slightly sweeter tastier fruit. It also triggers a reaction within the plants that gives them extra resistance to late blight. A cheap packet of soluble aspirin has lasted me years.

              hi john
I omitted to say i also use aspirin but i just drop a 500 mg tablet into the compost when potting into final pots, then a couple of times through the season i dissolve a couple into the watering can an water in, do not know if it helps but does not seem to do any harm as far as i can see.
I have only done this the last two seasons , never sprayed it onto the plants.
              regards Sandy

I was wondering ( with the permission of the administration team) if I could put myself forward to take on the job that Pamsdish did. I.e, run the tomato seeds round robin?

Could I have your views ?

Good idea Liliana, well done for stepping forward. You could start a new thread for the purpose.

@liliana If you're willing to take it on, liliana, then it's a great idea:thumbsup::love30: as it has been sadly missed.

I'll be growing Sungold - Suncherry premium like always , think I'll grow rosela again and a new variety to me Apero F1.

I use home made compost for my tomatoes I do chuck a hand full of bought compost while planting them in my bed in the GH. I've been using chempak no4 feed for them the past couple of years but I may try something different this year or go back to tomorite :noidea:

Tried Santonio F1 2 year ago, I was a bit disappointed with them.

Well, liliana, you could start a new Thread with a title such as "SEED SWAP - ROUND ROBIN"
and request that those who want to contribute and take part put their names down on the thread.
It is a lot of work but I think you'll enjoy organising it all

Well, I never took part in the Seed Swap except to send some seeds for the collection, but I would assume that people might send you some as I did. But make sure, liliana, that every one only discloses their address to you via pm, they should not do that on the Open Forum.
Has anyone got any advice for liliana to help her run the Seed Swap?

That is how it used to be done :blue thumb:. It expanded into quite a few different types of seeds being swapped and so there were at least two lots with two lists. I think the lists had the same names but in reverse order.

                            Good luck. :)
