Just spent my day puttering although I did get a lot of sorting things in the sewing machine room accomplished. I had saved a bunch of obsolete fabric samples thinking I would make masks with them but it's been 6 months since I looked at them as I now prefer quilt cotton for that purpose. Turfed the samples. Then found stuff I'd forgotten I had.

Got a machine table extension that clips on to what seems to be a domestic machine. But I can't remember which domestic machine and it has no label on it

I also uncovered a clutch purse I hadn't finished so I guess I'd better do that in the next few months. It is spring/summer themed fabrics.

And I put about 6 pieces in the jigsaw puzzle. Unless Sam helps, I'll still be doing this come the summer :yikes:

Given up with the water bits now as it's hard to distinguish between the shades under electric lights. Moving on to the houses now:biggrin:

For once I had a somewhat productive Saturday. Usually I spend hours just lolling about and reading, but yesterday I finally dug the sewing machine out and made new carpets for the Degus. They have a multi- layered large cage and the best bedding is double layered fleece, sewn to fit the various shelves and fixed with elastics to stay in place. Very easy sewing but for some reason I had been putting it off for months. My efforts were much appreciated by the little ones, especially as I donated the offcuts for them to arrange as they please. :doggieshmooze:

Also managed to mop the floors, another task that used to happen weekly but during the lockdown has been somewhat erratic. Nobody is going to pop in so the standards have dropped. Now it's nice and clean and will stay that way! :fingers crossed:

We cooked very nice lasagne and froze extra ragu, I lost three games of Kingdomino in a row and dug out seed sowing things from the Point Of No Return, also known as the garage. I really need to clear it out before spring!

Today is seed sowing day, plus a Skype chat with Papa and Siblings Selleri. :)

Bought an electric bike yesterday. I am a keen cyclist and although I have a brilliant hard tail bike already I do struggle to get up the hills, my speed drops right off to walking pace. I suppose I should have the view that at least I do get up the hills. Few days ago we did 13.5 mile ride and less than 3 miles were flat. I was so tired when I got back I fell asleep on the sofa:hate-shocked:. A friend has recently also bought an ebike and is loving the assistance it gives her up the hills. I am so looking forward to getting up the hills at a reasonable pace :)........... I might also be looking forward to blasting her away on a ride :heehee::loll:.

Ooh join the club @luciusmaximus Dave bought me one last year, probably sept/oct time and it is BRILLIANT!! Best thing ever. Dave is cycling mad and does xtrail, downhill etc etc so he is fine-doesnt need an ebike, but I couldn't get up the hill into our village (its very steep) and so everytime we went out of bikes i was exhausted before even going anywhere. Now it's a dream. Just got back from a 13 miles ride and it was pleasant. I only put the assistance on when I need it.

@Selleri that gave me a belly laugh! Fantastic - I think I'll name my cellar something similar. Right now it is the repository of beds, kitchen stuff, shelving, tools etc waiting for son's and granddaughter's move to happen sometime in the late spring. (When she is on the mend)

@Snorky85 I didn't understand that cartoon. When @ARMANDII first posted it, I thought it was some kind of inside joke that only Brits know about. He's sure got an arsenal of cartoons and pictures doesn't he!

I've got bread dough doing, watching corrie, washing bed linens, and just generally puttering.

Maybe I'll put another 5 pieces in my puzzle.

And I'm slipping outside into the sunshine for another Vitamin D shower today!! :)

Fed the birds and rinsed the slabs under the bird table seem to have a lot of goldfinches this winter, if we have a mild winter they don't migrate.

We have only had 1 lonesome Chicken now for over a year. Henryetta aways the boss of the other 3 and the Largest and dark black eyes that are a tad spooky..Since she has been on her own she is nicer...she follows me around being the digger, taking easy pickings from the soil. She lays eggs daily as a norm..odd days none ..then we hit a brick wall with her...nothing for weeks and weeks..today Mr. W. looked in the egg hatch she never uses it but it as easy way to check the interior for cleanness checks...4 EGGS..tested in water..sink fine float nope, fini....What a great feeling we both have now....:yay:
