I've got an entry level Janome and it's been quite good so far....considering the standard of user  Snapped a few needles though which is a bit frightening!

Puzzle progress is poor Lori. I did 2 pieces in an hour last night :rolleyespink::rolleyespink::rolleyespink:

Probably caused by Kitten/Cats:cat-kittyandsmiley::heehee:, Snorky, as that's what happens to me daily when they decided come and harass their Owner by sitting/treading on the keyboard as you're posting:wallbanging::heehee:

I have had another email from them with a suggestion and thankfully I could not go to the la poste this afternoon to return the machine....she says to check the bobbin settings and the brochure....so I have, trying to look for something different or new age that I have overlooked..Still got my last Janome and never had any trouble with it...( an accident occured...Always blame the cat:cat-kittyandsmiley: ) an Auntie who was a seamstress gave me her old one s my 1st machine which was converted from a treadle machine to electric.was super and loved sewing from a young age..MY NEW ONE....The machine will not let me pull the bobbin thread through to the top to be able to sew..the wheel is catching tightly as you turn it...like it's flawing somewhere....I will not get cross anymore today:yikes: will I...:dunno:.thanks for some guidance also.

they are now requesting a video of me showing the machine in use...I said I have spent too much time already this afternoon and will be going to the la poste or the dechetterie...(dump):ideaIPB:tomorrow...

@DianneW Are you using a bobbin case that came with the machine? Have you got the bobbin inserted with the thread unreeling counterclockwise? Your top tension can also be off which would make the thread not grab and come up.

different LORI..with the new one. It's a very basic machine so how could I go wrong:dunno:
except see this Model No. 415 the new one....then the old one Model 521....[IMG]

Also the handwheel does not have a pull position for the bobbin wind (up sure it must be or candid camera, what they expect me to do..next..
also this was the report of my NEW machine....
                Hello,
Your machine will be shipped tomorrow, it works perfectly, on receipt the claws which cause the fabric are in bat and the alternative hook placed in the wrong direction the machine can not stitch.
So I put it back correctly and tested it before returning it to you.
In this special time, take care of yourself and your loved ones.
** The processing time for machine after-sales service is currently extended to 15 days due to a large number of requests, thank you for your patience. **

When you push the bobbin to the right in order to spin thread onto it, the action in most mechanicsl machines disengages the needle mechanism so you don't need to pull the old style middle section outward on the hand wheel.

Upper tension is key to everything.

I have two Janome mechanical machines, one computerized sewing/embroidery machine and the last is a serger.

I have other makes of machines and some are specialized to perform only one action.

And again, the tensions on all of them are key to smooth operation. :)

Thanks for the lesson today..very much appreciate it. So technology is up there again..not in the brochure and was unable to wind a bobbin because the machine is not fit for purpose any purpose..the report showed that the thingy was put on back to front so now thinking what else was....I expect a new working machine or a refund..have contacted my bank/credit card co. for advice...waiting game now...

I decided to go for a quick bike ride this morning. Cycled down the lane to a T junction and found my route blocked by a farm hand on a trike, who informed me that the sheep were on their way down. Sat on my bike for several minutes. No sheep. Turned around and cycled back towards home, thinking I would go another route . However, when got to farm found gate locked ( to stop Sheep going through obviously ). Turned around again and cycled back towards T junction. No sheep. Van and car blocking lane waiting for the sheep. Gave up and went home. Just putting bike away and sheep went past my gates! Couldn't be bothered to get bike back out.

Made coasters using my newly purchased reptile heat mat. If it's successful it means I can use the resin in winter and make 8 or 9 coasters at once or I can make larger pieces. I also have my propagater set up, but that only takes 4 coasters.

Roger likes xtrail, downhill stuff too. I tried downhill when I first got into cycling. Scared me witless, did not like it at all. Fire roads, easy single track through woods and the lanes around Anglesey are my thing. Anglesey is very, very hilly and after a friend gave me a go on her new ebike it convinced me I needed one. I'm justifying the expense by telling myself it's good for my joints as less stress on knees :heehee:. Which bike do you have?
