    Ooh I didn't know it was called Bedfordshire Lace. We've got some lovely bits. My gt gt Aunt Flo was a housekeeper to a very rich American oil merchant who had a lovely house I'm Chalfont St Giles. Anything that they didn't want anymore or was slightly worn she was allowed to keep so have got some lovely table cloths and napkins etc.

    They're really nice paintings @CanadianLori It's so nice to have actual artwork rather than just prints. Although I've got to settle for Lowry prints that weve got a collection of in our hallway. :heehee: He is my favourite artist.

        @CanadianLori those paintings are nice.

        My mother had a painting done of my son when he was 6, it was done from a photo that she had. The painting was done in oils but those sort of paintings looks better far away than close up it is a good painting but i don't like it so it's in a cupboard upstairs.

          @Logan there is nothing worse than someone buying you a picture or a painting that you do not like. My sister in law had the habit of doing that - needless to say - the huge canvas photo print of her in a silly halloween costume is in the loft. :noidea:

            Yes that's right but it's a shame that it's in the cupboard .

              Yes Snorky, that particular style of bobbin lace is Bedfordshire. There are others too including Buckinhamshire lace which is much finer. If you'd like me to identify any others please feel free to ask. :)

                As people are showing their drawings I’d like to add my efforts. I haven’t done any drawing for years, but lockdown may be the time to start up again.
                I’ve dabbled in a few mediums but I think my favourite is coloured pencil and ink. I also like negative space pen and ink.

                        My late Dad when ill started with painting by numbers and within weeks he was painting off his own back, he painted these for me in 1999 and painted many many more. My sister has always from any early age done drawings and then paintings and is very skilled and she has sold many to small up market type art galleries. I can manage a stick man....

                              I used to enjoy his programme too. I liked the way he used to flick his brush to dry it. I do the same with my decorating brushes on the washing line post :)
