This is getting better by the minute - the EU are now having ago at NI. In case vaccines are sneaked from NI into other parts of the UK. Lack of trust. Someone should point out the we are making the Oxford vaccine here and NI will get their fair share.

The EU is introducing controls on vaccines made in the bloc, including to Northern Ireland, amid a row about delivery shortfalls.

Under the Brexit deal, all products should be exported from the EU to Northern Ireland without checks.

But the EU believed this could be used to circumvent export controls, with NI becoming a backdoor to the wider UK.

This is getting so silly, we just need to tell the EU to get stuffed.

Everyone over there is so much better off than out country. Our leader put all his eggs in the Chinese basket and when they didn't honour it and blocked the first shipment, then he started looking around!

We are 18th in line. As a G7 nation, that is pitiful! We are getting zero vaccines this week, probably the same next week.

Thank you Mike, Dianne and shiney and any I have missed for your added posts to our daughters problems at work.

Yes her doctor gave her a sick note , and also asked her if she would go for an exray on her knees , her neck and her shoulder. to check if their is anything more.

This has reduced her to tears with the horrible aches .it's so distressing not being able to help her we really do feel helpless.I know she isn't getting any sick pay from work with being off with stress earlier ..She has used all that's allocated to her.

And thanks Mike ,it really helps me when I can come moaning on here and you can add the bits to explain .

          Thankyou.

We have all had our say, about how this pandemic should have been handled etc. Slightly stepping aside.

Can we share our own, whatever, personal ways that all of this has affected us. You and me. For instance. Much has been said in the media, about the mental affects of all of this. So. Please give it some serious thought. OK. The weather hasn't been very supportive. As garden lovers, we have perhaps not been able to get out into the garde. Then many of us have a good many years under our belt. So, how, if in any way has all of the past pandemic year. How has it affected you?

Me! I have realised that I have become bogged down by the media's ongoing reports and documentation. Unable due to health and prevailing weather conditions along with lockdowns. I realise, my aptitude for learning, has weakened. I have four different typs if microscopes. I haven't touched any of them for the past year. My study of many scientific interest has dwindled. Contact with the outside world has become limited to this forum. NO. I am not suggesting I am becoming do-lally-prat. But yes. I do feel that this pandemic etc is somehow eating away at my brain. How about you?

A hint just given on the news this morning from the WHO, that once the UK have vaccinated the 9 categories of people they have laid out as being most at risk we will be under some obligation to stop and spread the available vaccine around the world.

There will be an economic and moral obligation for the developed nations to ensure that other nations have a vaccine supply. Currently there are over 200 vaccines being developed, obviously like the French vaccine some will not be effective, but some will be one jab treatments. Also the development of the micro needle patch means they could even be self administered.
After all this I am still waiting for my own appointment! But the future is looking rosy or at least pale pink.

Don't we need to vaccininate more than just the priority groups to achieve herd immunity?

Plus by the time they've had the second jabs, it might be time to start all over again with a new vaccine to combat variants.

We were each given an official card which must be with you when you are called for the 2nd jab. Astro Zenica says a further dose of their vaccine must be given - not mixed with any other type. Only had to wait 5 minutes after the jab then ushered out back to the car park.
A new school and jabs were done in the badminton hall so nice and airey and roomy.

That was recognised as long ago as 8 months with the goal of dealing with the vulnerable, the NHS workers, etc until there was room to vaccinate those below 65 en masse. So the Scientists reckon we need at least 70% of the UK population vaccinated but 90% would be better.:dunno::coffee:

Hurray, our borders to Spain close tonight at midnight till 14 February with travel outside the mainland, carried out by any means - road, rail, air, river or sea", is forbidden and will be enforced. There are seven land borders and five will be available for emergency and essential travel.

They also have the massive sport stadium near Faro ready to turn into a field hospital should it be needed as they have done in Portimao as we are taking cases from Central. Our own hospitals have capacity but they don't want them overloaded. The private hospitals are helping also.

Obviously the WHO look at it from a global aspect, so to them all the over 50s in the world need to be vaccinated.
Maybe by the time that all gets done herd immunity will have taken place naturally in most countries.

"Yes it was lockdown and we should not have done it, I should not have done it," he said.

"But I'm not a bad lad and he's not a bad lad.

"Everyone has probably broken the rules at some point. During the first lockdown everyone took it seriously but now I think people are fed up with it."

No, not everyone has broken the rules at some point. In fact, most people have made sacrifices because they must follow the rules and importantly, stop the virus from spreading. Grrr. It's not normal and usual to bend the rules, that's just plain wrong. There is no excuse.

                              Sorry, rant over now!
