Just had my eyes tested and it appears my prescription has not changed yet again.
I don't need glasses for distance, but have had reading glasses for some years now.

I didn't go through the process of buying new reading glasses, so just came away with the prescription.

Has anyone bought online glasses , and if so would you recommend any that you consider a good company.

ThinLenses.co.uk :: High Index Lenses | Prescription Glasses | Varifocal Lenses | Fashion Frames | Designer Glasses | Ultra Thin Lenses | Reglaze glasses from Thinlenses

I have used this Company since moving over to France end of 2012. Attracted by the thin lenses to start with and as I have had such good all round service I would recommend them.
Various companies act slighty differently in as much as some require you to choose your frames, measure per instructions, also then they send your frames to you for approval ,I guess..You return and then they fit he lenses. Thin lenses last time I ordered(Last year)procedure..measurement taken, a photo of your eyes taken, then both sent off via email with your choice of frames and lenses. very straightforward after the first time...Helpful on the Phone if unsure of anything, also will advice the type of frames to suit the lens if you ask..

Pete, my glasses are for astigmatism (only wear for computer/reading/TV/crafts/etc, not for going about daily chores) and cost nearly £400 in Opticians (here and there). Sent my prescription to them and had thin lenses and it was around £70. T'other Half has had four pairs from them (two near/two far) for £6 a pair plus sunglasses. You can't get better for the money.

Just looking at my prescription, it doesn't look like some of it fits with the boxes they show, and some of it looks like doctors writing.:rolleyespink:

When I had mine it confused me being in French + Doctors writing..
So I spoke with thinlenses and he said to send by email a copy of my prescription and he would advice me from there.
If your just after a spare, maybe you would wish a cheaper stockist, I think mine suited what I needed, regardless of the expense.

That's fine Pete, I have just the two, distant and readers, but they still travel in other rooms and spend half my time looking for them, thinking if only I had my glasses on, I could see where they are:yes::)

I can never remember where I left them, that's why I like to have a few pairs kicking around, bound to come across one pair.

You are like T'other Half ... in every room but the right ones always in the wrong room :rolleyespink:
Try SpecSavers (actually seeing ads for them on the TV at the mo). You can't go wrong for £6 and I think post is free for you (it was £6 for us) ... but guess that it shot now. If they read Portuguese prescriptions they can read yours.

Yeah, but can they read Indian ones??

                        Specsavers, never thought of them.
Used their opticians in the past and the frames were as expensive as they were anywhere else, mayb they are cheaper online?
