WHAT ARE WE DOING IN THE GARDEN TODAY - 2021

Been out this morning about 8.00 am, quick as I could around the garden that is all squelchy and not very nice to walk on, got soaked, well my coat did...and back for a cuppa with Girlze tearing up behind me, Saber he could not give a hoot was just strolling around with his 'Dad' as usual.
Rain Cloud Rain today so Garden Bogland = No Gardening today

 

Nothing today it's raining again.

 

we live in a house with no real stairs so just like a bungalow really..property before was a bungalow but in parts looked likes a house because the terrain was so steep the lounge at the side was like looking at a first floor window...

 

Went for a short walk around the square...keeping my eye on the newish Maire...
and came back, got my woolly gloves on still and walked around the least wet parts of the garden, done a little weeding and dug up a couple of new Polyanthus from within the grass and potted them up for now. Mr.W said get off the grass as your making it more muddy..he deserved one of my looks could kill, then thought about throwing my now muddy gloves at him but to be honest he looked so funny in his sou'wester and just thought about the time ...getting near lunch and went indoors...

 

Walked the boys at 10am was soaking, dried them and me now sitting down. Was thinking of making some cards but changed my mind, it's not the same doing them since my friend Keith passed away last October.

 

Sure does Logan, sadly things cannot stay the same and I miss my bestest friend Rosi, every day, it seems to get easier then is doesn't again..We lived our lives big time together and even when she moved to Hastings in the early 70's when it was our turn in 2000 we moved to Bexhill just a short journey away from her and the family. Her daughter is my daughters friend as we had our Holidays together from when little ones. I am fine when I talk about her, its when you just ponder without realising it, then it just hits me and maybe that is the same for you Logan. She died in 2006 she was 58 years old. So maybe talk about Keith, sometime, it might help to ease your pain Logan.

Well what turned out to be a no gardening day turned out to be a few hours spent in the greenhouse.

id got about 4 scented pellies just chucked in there to save them from frost and snow, so potted them up and tidied them up/trimmed back. Planted up one of my clay pots of sedums etc. Did another pot with ajuga, london pride and mesembryanthemum. Also sown a load of sweet peas and another tray of tall scabious.

Was surprised to see that the onion sets i put in last week have already got decent roots on them! It's amazing how quick things will get going in a heated greenhouse.

Did a bit of a sweep and tidy up and then come inside. Giving the plants of bit of extra light with the LED lamps now.
