That's euonymus , euonymus japonica maybe I'd need to see the whole shrub to get a better id . Its not the same plant as the other though , the other picture has red / brown stems and the variegation is opposite to this one.

Good call and thanks for the pointer on the green manure. I have some random seeds in a tin somewhere in the depths of the unsorted garage so will have to dig around. I'll have to split what I can this year and see what I can scrounge, sure there's lots to be had somewhere!

Well I went into the front shed just to get the hot tub treatment etc out and noticed mousey looking at me. Cute little thing! Noticed I'd left an old blanket in there so grabbed it and out fell a cozy little mousey nest from the centre of it. Poor thing. It hadn't damaged the blanket, just shredded itself some paper and string and made a neat little cozy spot. It was very clean - no poop or wee smells. I felt so bad. It just sat looking at me!! So I've decided to give the shed another clear out. It's got so damp, so I've disinfected it all and it's got a heater in there now drying it out. Just transferring stuff that was in cardboard boxes into airtight containers.

Call me mad, but I felt so bad about mousey that I made him a new nest lol. I got an old plastic tub with the lid off, filled it with wool insulation that I'd been saving and popped it's little paper shreddings into the centre of it. I've sat the tub on it's side. Hopefully it won't be too upset. Nasty cold weather forecast so hopefully it'll stay nice and cozy in there.

The shed is rotting at the bottom corners, around the windows, through the felt roof, in the sides etc. New shed needed methinks.

Planted 4 pots of snowdrops and put some homemade compost around the rhubarb.
@Snorky85 the mouse will probably come back, we're all softies at heart.

Tidied up another border after refilling a hole dug, possibly, by a fox and cleared up the remains of a poor deceased pigeon that seemed to have been attacked by the phantom 'digger'.
Do foxes catch and eat pigeons???:dunno::scratch:
Split up some Snowdrops and found new homes for them.
Fed the Lemon Tree and checked for Scale critters...none :blue thumb:
Also gave the Orange seedlings a tiny citrus feed too.
This afternoon I did some potting on of some seedlings sown last year ,( not sure what they were).
              Sowed 3 trays of seeds.
Sorted out the seeds that I will germinate on tissue in Ziploc bags.

              Exciting times are here!!!!:hapflower:

Foxes can catch pigeon and eat it also other birds.
I see foxes around here because we're on the edge of the country side.I've seen dead pigeons during the day by the next day it's gone.

We are both awake @Mike Allen ...
If it was light I'd go down the garden for a walk.

@Snorky85 I would have done the same for the mouse ! I hope she/he's happy

Bringing some compost indoors from the greenhouse and poly tunnel before it freezes solid next week, or Mrs Scrungee will complain about 30 & 60L ice blocks defrosting indoors when all I need is a couple of carrier bags full for pricking out some seedlings and sowing a few pots of seeds under lights indoors.

I felt like a proper gardener this morning. I gardened in the rain. I wouldn't have done normally but as I had got all togged up in my overalls and my wellies, I had no desire to take it all off again until had finished what I started. The aconite bulbs I ordered arrived in the post today so I wasted no time in getting them in the ground.

Out to the greenhouse to see how things are doing watered a few things in there. Got a few onions out of the shed and lifted some parsnips for soup.
Wandered down to the compost heaps and noticed a lot of sawdust all over the place. Thinks where's all this come from? Looks around and Oh! Large ash tree in neighbours garden is now a 10ft high stump, right that explained the sawdust. When had it gone? Chat with neighbours revealed it had been done on Wednesday. Relief that it wasn't done a month ago and I'd not noticed. I'd lived with that tree since I moved in, roots getting into all the beds at that end, shading the sun from that end of the garden at the end of the day. It had had a TPO on it so I was a little surprised the council let it be cut right down; hinted to neighbours that they might like to kill the stump off as it would resprout. Then little happy dance all the way back to the house.
