My sister was a bit concerned on the 5000 dill seeds but I'm rather more concerned about the Artichokes. I can perhaps fit in one or two plants, but having a pack of 300 seeds is testing. Resist, Selleri, Resist!

 

As seed-raised artichokes are so variable, 'They' recommend that you grow on plenty and select the best examples to keep, once they've produced heads.

 

Another customer for Premier Seeds Direct....Selleri should be on commission....

 

I bought quite a few packets from Premier Seeds again this year, but wasn't looking closely when I ordered 2 packets of Parsnips @ 99p each, as some other suppliers (T&M) only include about 250/pkt, cost over twice as much, plus charge four times as much for delivery.

Only when putting them away with my other 'root veg' seeds did I notice they each contain 2,600 seeds.

What on earth could I do with over 5,000 Parsnips

 

Should have taken a photo before I potted them up, but have just received some of the plumpest and biggest Gloxinia tubers we have ever bought.

We only wanted a few but most of the usual places only did mixed pack (pot luck) or 3 packs of a single colour.

Saw this place on ebay who also only showed 3 packs so mailed them and they were happy to send one of all 5 colours +1 to round up the prices.

Thought it was just a small ebayer but seems its a quiet a large place, though never heard of them before ?! .... anyone else know or use them ?

Hi @ricky101 yes they've been around for many years. I think they used to specialise in bulbs - not sure what they do now.

 

I have a rooting of a Lagerstroemia - Red Crepe Myrtle winging it's way to me from Spain (well, probably coming by Donkey). I shall standardise it in a pot.

 

@ARMANDII sorry for the delay. They only arrived today.
I'm not sure they are strictly in the green. They are not in bloom but many of them are carrying good shoots. I see no reason why they shouldn't take. They are in the ground now so we will just have to wait to see what happens.

We had a Home Bargains store open here recently. I was passing that way so I thought I would have a look. Among other things I bought this little chap. I thought it would brighten up the kiddies' play area.

Ahh, these days. Popping into Poundland made me a bit happier: philadelphius, lily of the valley, freesias. I keep in mind they may come not completely true

Sweet peas seeds - of course inside they are not clearly marked.

Mouse ate my personally collected seeds when I left those to dry in the shed.
And crinodendron hookerianum arrived today. Was looking at it for a year, then it was shown here on the forum flowering. It made me finnally to decide it's must have plant

 

I placed a rather large order yesterday. Luckily I got two vouchers with 40% off each. I don't have the plants yet, so stock images have to do.

First I bought a twin set of "Fourberries". It is a tradename so I don't expect a lot of you to know it. Basically it is a giant black currant, blooming in bright yellow



Secondly I bought a matching pair of passionfruit. Passiflora incarnata. I think it is the only one in that family to both survive down to -20°C and giving me the joy of harvesting real passion fruits. Had to look for almost a year.

Does that mean they are quadruple the size of other blackcurrants then Black Dog?
