You are doing too much woman ... put pink nail varnish on your glasses and look through rose coloured ones ... and tell Hubby to look away! You would cringe if you saw mine!
:hate-shocked: In this case, health comes before cleanliness!

Well, this turned out to be interesting! I started work normally at 8 and at 9 the internet died. :yikes: It just went out completely, and the router was flashing red. I called BT who confirmed that there is a fault with the actual cable and opened a ticket to get it fixed. As it can take days they also sent me a sort of courtesy router that connects to mobile network for free.

So, I texted my boss and asked if I can take the day off. It's the best day of winter, plenty of snow and bright sunshine, we first had elevenses with part-baked bread fresh from oven and then went for a long walk in the woods.

We have seen deers and birds of all kinds in the local woods (3 miles from Newcastle city centre) but today saw something very unexpected.

        Parakeets! [IMG] [IMG]

I knew there is a population around here but have never seen them before. The photo is rubbish but the bright colours and the catlike calls were unmistakeable. :)

When we came back we saw some guys working on the lightning pole next to the BT phone pole. We came in and hey ho, the internet is back! So either Openreach exceeded expectations or it was the council guys snipping the wrong cable.

Anyways, once we have thawed a bit it'll be a nice lunch and some board games. A very good surprise mini- holiday :)

Hmmm maybe, but I just can't sit still and watch things build up. That's all I've really done today apart from a bit of dish drying. Honestly .:dbgrtmb:

Today made the Christmas cake, I'll wrap it in cling film and put it in a airtight container. Give it about a week and start putting the sherry/ fortified wine in.

Just used the 'indoor' function of the pond vacuum. It took up all the muck off the carpet and had a good go at sucking up the entire carpet as well. I did buy some more dust bags and a replacement vacuum head as the head provided with the machine was really only useful for the pond. The pipe is about 4 meters long - so we don't have to move the machine around much.

By 'eck it's powerful. The old vacuum has been passed down to my brother - whose vacuum packed in and he can't get out to get a new one. Recycling at its finest.

My new potting shed is arriving on the 23rd. I'm not bothering with the mineral felt roofing - I'm going totally bezerk and have purchased a pond liner which will be put over the roof timber in a single piece. That will stop the rain getting in.

X-ray day...finally. :yahoo:Small grocery shop and a visit to see my brother.

Nothing else worth reporting really, as I'm feeling absolutely shattered from yet another sleepless night.

Might have doze :snooze: as I can't do what I had planned to do out in the greenhouse now sadly .

:love30::thumbsup: A good move, clanless, I renewed my Garage flat roof completely some years ago with Marine decking, and lined it on top first with Visqueen, then a 30 years Life guaranteee Pond Liner and then a thick layer of gravel to absorb the Sun.......it'll outlast me:old::dunno::heehee:
