Hi everyone, hoping that you're all fighting fit today.

A bit late signing in today as I had to be at the hospital for 9:30.....very cold out and a shock to the old system leaving so early!!!!:yikes:....sadly I'm not made of Shiney material especially since retirement ;).
Stopped off on the way back to do a small grocery shop before calling into see my brother for a coffee and catch up.

Youngest son has just phoned to say the surveyors report on the apartment that he is buying in London was very good and raised no issues. We have all been waiting anxiously as you hear so many shocking cladding issues. All is clear.:dbgrtmb:

Enjoy the rest of your day!!:spinning:

      Aloha everyone,

As our Sainsbury's delivery at 6.30 a.m. yesterday didn't have all we ordered, and Mrs Shiney needs some of it, I was at Aldi at 7.30 this morning. :blue thumb: Only two other customers were there. Although they don't open until 8 a.m. they open for wrinklies at 7.30. :old:

      Keep well

      Aloha!

        Good morning !!!!:)

Looking good out there so far, albeit cold, just have to add a few more layers before hobbling of to snuggle up in the greenhouse. Just waiting for the sun to hit it first.

Not much else to report really, apart from thanking @shiney for his new Quiz ....love such games in winter!!

The other sad thing that has struck me is while spending a bit more time reading through posts lately is just how many of our friends here are deeply suffering from issues, be it physical or mental. Some of which are being magnified undoubtedly more so due to Covid. Even living lockdown with someone else may not prove beneficial, as that person could be the root to the issue. Sadly I have very ,very recently read such a post, and I found myself moving on without acknowledging the post.....I couldn't 'like ' it !!! And I couldn't even begin to know were to start in offering advice or support. I felt so awful and felt like I was abandoning the member in his time of such distress. In my defence I think it's best to walk away rather than give wrong advice or hurtful comments...as none of us can really know the true depth of the person's distress, and a casually thrown in ( inappropriate) comment could be the one that eventually pushes them over the edge.

I will keep an eye on that particular post though..and the others that have caused me concern.....I won't walk away really that's for sure. I will work on trying to pen a response .

        Keep safe.:spinning:

I agree with this. The ackowledgements available are not always suitable for the situation and you don't feel correct in responding. The only way is to do a post with an emotive, like shock, cuddles, etc.

Good morning everyone, late on parade today but after a night up and down I had a bit of a lay in. Had my blood taken yesterday and she must be a pretty good district nurse as there is no bruising for a change. Still not phoned 119 though I feel I should. Hope everyone is feeling brighter this morning. Stay safe and well. God bless. :)

              Aloha everyone,

I've done the washing and drying already this morning and, after a hectic day yesterday, hope to take it fairly easy today.

I'm doing meals on wheels today. Roast chicken dinner that I shall take to some single elderly ladies in the village - it is Valentine's Day.

It's supposed to start warming up from tomorrow and should reach Spring temperatures during the week.

              Keep well

              Aloha!

we are finally happy to tell you..... we have moved yay! Got lots of things to sort out .... plumbing washing in, emptying lots of boxes an clothes, the only issue is the three radiators are only Luke warm, I’ve bled them and turned the pressure back up as it was low, do you think it could be the little thermostat that you turn on the radiator (with the numbers on) they are on the highest number too??

do you need to vent the pressure knob by turning it the other way...when I use to do ours it hisses and then goes to a reading within the safety line... as it should not be too high either..that's if we are talking modern gas boilers.?...

I vented my radiators recently. The bathroom one in particular wasn’t getting hot to the top. Opened the radiator vent but had no hissing of escaping air. Vented all the upstairs radiators. Turned the heating back on still not getting warm. Topped the pressure up at the boiler went back upstairs opened the vents and bingo escaping air. Radiator getting warm. So it might be worthwhile bleeding again :)

It could still be trapped air. The only other thing I can re-call when we had some issues with radiators not heating up enough..thermostats not working,?
