That is why I have moved from where you are to where I am. Still in touch with long-time friends in Buckingham who come to visit here often.

@2nd_bassoon I think that I've lost my wallflowers, the ground has been frozen for days and a biting breeze all the time.

 

Just come online to plan what seeds to sow today. It's so much milder and it has rained all night (filling my IBC tank ).

I've just read that Honesty is a biennial and should have been sown last summer. How annoying.

Going to do some more clary sage I think as what I've already grown in the greenhouse is looking healthy and now I want more I've run out of pots so going to be sowing into jiffy cells where possible.

 

Now that it's milder I hope to do something in the garden soon. I can't remember the last time I went down there, and there's such a lot to do.
I am annoyed that my beautiful pot of Cyclamen coum have been decimated by that dreadful cold weather

 

Put down 2 of the 5 stepping stones leading to the potting shed. Decided a month or so ago that I needed the stones after, in the same area, doing a somersault whilst holding a wheel barrow - luckily no one saw me. The others will go in tomorrow now - as we're waiting for a delivery from Amazon.

 

Well, I've done the seed sowing. 15 sweet aperitif toms, 15 clary sage, 20 squash hurricane (butternut), 50 marigolds, 20 tomato moneymaker. I've put the plants in the conservatory on the floor as it is underfloor heating-hopefilly that will provide bottom heat for germination.

Just about to go out to wilkos and get some more seed trays and propagator lids. Will get my grreenhouse heat mat out later. I also need some greenhouse shelving as there is literally no space for anymore plants now.

 

Sowed some Snapdragons, verbascum, verbena bonerenses and polyanthus seeds, potted up 6 rooted cuttings of eurigeron.

 

Sowed Brachyscome iberidifolia ((Swan River Daisies) at the base of the Jatropha integerrima and Mandevillea at the base of the two Thevetia peruviana shrubs which for the first time have dropped their leaves due to the cold. Also planted more Cerinthe major 'Purpurascens' in two places, Passiflora tripartita mollissima (Banana Passionfruit) and Morning Glory Blue Picotee for trellises.

Also did a big pot of Mirabilis jalapa mixed with Nicotiana alata.

It may be 18c out there but the wind is too much as I am sowing directly in the earth.

Well, today the snow is melting, but it’s still cold and icy out there. But we did go and admire the bulbs that are peeping out a little now, and also the snowdrops, now that the snow has gone.

 

Have you tried it? I have planted the seeds (all in one go ) by the front door (hopefully to go over it) as I understand they like some shade and that only gets morning sun.

Oh, I planted the Geraniums in a pot yesterday, all together to keep each other company. Will put up a photo as and when. The Plectranthus is looking good, still thinking where to put it, maybe the rockery which has some shade under the Jacaranda.
