No sun here in Birmingham so was gardening in 2 jumpers and a hoodie to keep warm.

    * dug out more clay soil for my beds and filled with organic matter
    * filled 3 of my raised beds with cardboard, MPC, muck and topsoil.
    * dotted about some daffodils
    * use the hammer and chisel to get rid of some of the excess concrete around my garden path
    * made a wigwam from canes.
    * mourning the loss of fig plant as I think it was just to cold last night

@ARMANDII your Kojo-No-Mai is at least a week ahead of mine, if not more - mine is just starting to bud but not a single open flower yet.

Quite pleasent outside here once the sun came out so got a few bits and pieces done. I potted on some plug plants to grow on in the conservatory for a few weeks before the planters are ready for them. Cleaned out what was a herb planter and then restocked it with strawberry runners - in the old flat garden I grew the strawberries in pots that hung from the drainpipes, which worked brilliantly as a pest deterrent, as well as a space saver, but there's a bit of a derth of downpipes here. On the plus side, more space for more plants will hopefully equal more strawberries...!

Main job however was sitting in the sun with a hot chocolate (I don't like tea or coffee :ouch1:) staring at the decking, thinking deep thoughts about how I want to treat/paint it. No progress has yet been made but the process is enjoyable at least.

Not as much as I would've liked, as I had to go into town this morning and did quite a bit of walking ..so a bit achy.

Mainly greenhouse tasks this afternoon, sowed some Salvias and Dianthus. Sieved some more compost in readiness for more seed sowing too. That's all folks!!

We moved a tree today...can't move myself at all now. Emptied the hot tub and cleaned it out too so can't even use it to have a soak!

I dug up another barrow full of Alliums and then did some pressure washing. The afternoon was taken up with recuperating :rolleyespink:

The grey bin is for none recycling but aloud to put some garden waste in. A green bin for the recycle things, everything can go in there, tins, glass, plastics, paper and cardboard. We could have a brown bin for garden waste but have to pay for it, so we don't have it. Can take it to the recycling center that takes everything, then goes into different skips.

It been a busy day in the GH today . It were cold a dreary outside so didn't fancy going to the GH with cold hands sowing seeds , I were watching the Burnley v Arsenal game and noticed it were sunny there, made my way to the GH and within a minute the sun was out  . It soon warmed up bit to warm for a jumper, best time to be in the GH when its cold outside and warm inside.

Today like every year is tomato sowing day , gone with 5 varieties this year Shirley - Sungold - Suncherry Premium - Rosella - Apero . Also sow my Melons and cucumbers and various annuals and perennials . I am looking forward to Leonotis I've not grown them before . Must of sowed 25 - 30 pots of different seeds today its just getting them in the propagators which were the problem, which has just reminded me I've got one in the fridge that needs to go in the propagator .

@ARMANDII the colour of your Acer "Ukigumo" is beautiful :wow: I'm going to have to put one of those on my wish list.

Well my back is really feeling the effects of all the turning over of the allotment :help: so I've just pottered today. Watered the pots and top dressed. Cleaned out some old pots and sown some calendula and calofornian Poppies. I've decided to grow more of the Calofornian Poppies as the ones from last year are still going strong in the borders and planters. There are signs of life now all around. One of the Acers had buds and my lilac is showing lovely new buds too.

thanks @Perki Weve removed a central patio which originally had a statue and pergola but wasn't to our taste. so it is slowly growing grass seed.

ps Apologies everyone that my typing skills are useless. I've got a new phone which I'm finding very difficult to get used to due to the size of the keyboard! lol

If you like those you also want to try Welsh poppies (Papaver cambrica). They're perennials and also self-seed fairly well. :blue thumb:
