Hi there @Flumpy . Yes it's still painful not having Mum with us . I will take some flowers up to their grave for her tomorrow.

Also hard still not seeing my 'boy's ' too. ....roll on July!!! That 's when they say ( as things stand now) they will feel happier visiting us , knowing that our risk levels will be significantly lower as we both would've had our 2nd jab by then. We are still not happy about them travelling down by train ,especially if they haven't had their jabs. Hubs has said that he will drive up to get them, but as of yet we have said anything to them as we know they will protest that it's unnecessary..

My walk yesterday really took it's on toll on me, so painful last night that I didn't get any sleep .
So after a morning of very slow housework I have had the afternoon resting up with ice packs on my leg trying to ease the pain and hopefully reduce my swollen knee.

I feel a wreck and so depressed that it doesn't take much to make the tears flow .Hugging my boys would make me the happiest Mum in the world, that's for sure. My sister phoned to say that she has seen one of her daughters this week and is going over for Sunday dinner tomorrow with her other one.
I am really happy for her honestly....but it does make me feel even sadder too. Makes me sound horrid doesn't it...oops.

Looks as if we're to enjoy a lovely day of weather today.

Will pop up to the cemetery at some point today to place some flowers on my parents grave in remembrance of Mum on this Mothering Sunday.

Apart from that and some seed sowing nothing else is planned.

Still regularly icing up my leg to help reduce the swelling....think it could be working and that there is a very slight improvement.:fingers crossed:

        Enjoy your Sunday everyone. :spinning:

          Aloha everyone,

It's a lovely sunny day today

I'm cooking Sunday dinner for some ladies (Shiney's wheels on meals :)) as today seems appropriate. :blue thumb:

I hope to get some more pressure washing done this afternoon and then this evening I'm going up to London to pick up an order (click and collect) from a specialist Deli/bakers (I'm running out of ingredients) and then on the way back stop at a Sri Lankan greengrocers for things I can't get locally. Both places have very strict distancing policies. They're both open until midnight so I don't think they will be busy when I get there.

          Keep well

          Aloha!

Good Morning everyone. We have another nice day ahead of us. Once the inside chores are done I think it will be a day in the garden for us.

Have a fab day ! :spinning:

                Aloha everyone,

I have some negotiating to do today as the landline/internet contract is running out according to the letter I have received. I'll check my files to have the full details handy.

Last month I renegotiated all our insurances (house, contents, cars) and got a good deal (40% off my car and less off the others). I told them I want all my contract details as paper documents. The home insurance came as electronic. I wanted to email customer services but they don't have one. So I have had to email their complaints department. We'll see what transpires.

The phone of one of the ladies that I do Shiney's meals on wheels for is out of order. I phoned the supplier for her and they wanted to know why I was reporting it and not her :rolleyespink:. "Because her phone doesn't work!" :wallbanging: I didn't add the word 'stupid'.

                Keep well

                Aloha!

You sound just like my hubs @shiney , he's always negotiating with all our service providers too, mind you it was part and parcel of his job when he was working. Also it's in his blood, they barter, haggle, negotiated for everything in his part of the world.

Going to be another nice day today,we're even said to reach 15C !!!:hapydancsmil:. Have things to do this morning ,including an appointment so will be out in the garden for sure this afternoon.:dbgrtmb:

Hope you all have a lovely day.:spinning:

Good morning all, hope all is well in Gardeners Corner. I have been giving my pc a bit of a rest as my eyes are not good at the moment. I am still adjusting to the new lenses, which I do not think they have got quite right. Must change my opticians. Lets hope Spring is not far away could do with warming up a bit! Have a good day and stay safe and well.
                    God bless.:wub2:

                      Aloha everyone,

I negotiate for things because I love to haggle and as an old barrow boy I can't get it out of my blood. :heehee:

I'm also very conscious of people getting paid the proper price for their work. I didn't wait for Lewis (gardener) to put his price up but told him he isn't charging me enough and put it up for him. Ben, who redid our patio and has been doing odd jobs for me (last week he cemented round the shed, built a new propagator and replaced our kitchen taps) gave me his bill for last week's work and I added £50 to it as I didn't think he charged enough. I also used to pay my staff more than any other salon in town. The other owners used to tell me I'm not making enough profit and my reply was "I know, but I have happy staff and it's fun to go to work".

We filled two wheelie bins yesterday with just cutting back the Euphorbia mellifera. We hadn't done it for a couple of years :nonofinger: so the stems were woody and needed a lot of lopper work :phew: It was ten foot high and six foot diameter. :rolleyespink:

                      Keep well

It's sunny here at the moment but I have a large non-gardening to do list - phone calls, emails and ordering :phew:

I hope to get some more pressure washing done.
