@Flumpy Nobody allowed to mix indoors yet but you can meet in the garden as long as you keep proper distancing.

You are allowed six people to meet (including yourself) or more if it's just two households that have more people living in them. So if two households each have a couple and their four children you can still meet. How you would keep the kids away from each other is another matter. :rolleyespink:

Thanks for that Shiney, I now know I can visit my parents without worrying, it’s mostly just me, hubby and my brother. Just checked on my sweet pea seeds and they are already 4 inches high  and my teddy bear seeds are now popping there little heads up woohoo :hapydancsmil:

Sorry upsydasiy, we ate the lot ( save some for you next time):)

Lovely gardening weather today, so we went to the garden centre and bought three hostas,
A spirea and some alchemilla mollis. Came home, planted them up and then sat outside and enjoyed the sunshine and the birdsong.Tea and biscuits and a crossword completed the enjoyment ( simple pleasures and all that.):spinning:

                Aloha everyone,

It looks as though it will be another good day but I had to scrape the ice of the car this morning. The wind appears to have dropped but the weather map shows a light wind blowing north, so I still shan't be able to have my bonfire. I shall have to wait until the south wind doth blow. :)

I may dig up some more primroses so that I can mow another lawn.

I've been getting on well tidying up my files but it's still not making a big impression into the old paperwork. I've now thrown out all the paperwork for my parents' tax, bills, probate and wills. There must have been over 1,000 sheets of paper. I also emptied two box files of papers from a couple of charities I set up and two more boxes of consumer legal cases I handled. I'm trying to get rid of the stuff where I can throw the whole box file out. Then it will be on to getting rid of half the paperwork (all the old ones) in other files. :phew: do I really need the invoice for the car I bought in 1963? :heehee:

                Keep well

                Aloha!

Gosh yes...paperwork is very sneaky stuff isn't it, it creeps up quietly and finds a home for itself....without an invite!!

Hubs is very good I have to say. In the office everything has it's place and after the required X amount of years certain stuff gets incinerated.

                  Me...hmmm not quite so good.
All my self employment paper work I still have as the required time lapse period is still active. Like wise all the records and associated paperwork on most of the children are still needed to be kept until they reach 21yrs of age. I had over 50 children on my books, admittedly some have now passed 21.
Likewise I ( with a friend) ran several child related clubs....swimming, holiday, stay and play and toddlers craft clubs ...all attendance records need to be kept. Also ran childcarers support groups too. The paper work is just amazing, but very much needed. It can be used to prove a child's whereabouts many years down the line should they ever feel the need to start their own proceedings when they reach adulthood. All their welfare records are kept too. Sad things happen that make this a necessity these days.

I forgot to mention that I also dumped my school reports ("We know he can do better" :heehee:) and last year I burnt two big black bin bags of till receipts. I still need to go through all my holiday files that have info about the countries, the people and their way of life, maps of towns, places to see and lots of my notes. I think they fill seven box files and I don't think anyone else would be the least bit interested. Even recent ones are no longer relevant. Our January 2020 tour of Myanmar would not assist anyone in deciding whether to go there . It must be hovering around the bottom of everyone's list. How about a tour of Brazil?

Another great day ahead to enjoy.
I plan to try and take things easy today, I've said to hubs that I will just sit and enjoy the garden...trouble is that I'm not good at just sitting!!

I will definitely try though as once again I can't weight bear on my dodgy leg.... not sure what is going on with it as it's now in my shin / knee area. Despite doing things throughout the day I do also take rest periods, and the Dr did say to keep ' active' and keep the joint mobile after the jab last Friday, so I have been obeying instructions.:dunno:

Anyway enough of the moaning we have another glorious day ( and tomorrow too, but only 18C I think ) before we go back to the nippy normals for Easter.
At least it might stop the mass migration to all the beaches and local beauty spots this bank holiday.....have to always look on the brighter side of life.

                      Have a fab day everyone.:spinning:

                        Aloha everyone,

Yesterday we had six power cuts . So far this year we've already passed last year's 17 power cuts

We've just had our oven cleaned this morning and he did a great job. Neither of us are up to working hard at cleaning it and scraping the residue off - even though we wipe it over each time. It took him two hours of hard scraping. We've decided to book him every six months. :blue thumb:

I di lots of work in the garden yesterday and hope to get more done today. The in-house masseuse sorted me out :)

                        Keep well

                        Aloha!

Good morning everyone, @Upsydaisy, do take care of that leg. Mine have been playing up bit scared it might be thrombosis as I have been on Guiness to help with my anaemia but has it gone the other way?

Have good day everyone, take it easy and stay safe and well. Cant you mow around the primroses @shiney seems a shame to move them. I guess that there are probably too many of them.

                              Aloha everyone,

The wind is supposed to start blowing from the north today. If it does I shall then be able to light my bonfire. :hapydancsmil: I have to hose down all the trees around it first. They're at least 15ft away but the heat gets fierce. I stand by with hose going all through the main burn. :blue thumb:

I've been cutting new edges to the lawns and clearing weeds within a couple of feed of the edges. This will be a continuous job for the next few weeks. :phew:

I want to start getting the bean poles in and the frames done. That's a full week job as I have to be careful with my neck and back whilst doing it.

@moyra In the wild area at the end of the garden there are probably well over a thousand of them (together with primulas, cowslips and orchids) and it now doesn't get mown again until August. The ones I'm digging out are from a lawn 100ft from there and is about 60ft x 20ft and the primroses have carefully spread themselves all over it. They weren't there last year! They're in an area where I have to take the mower through to get to the other lawns. They are all now settled nicely in seed trays and when we're sure they are not needing further nursing they will be going to good homes. Some are for friends who have been asking for them and the rest are going into a recently weed cleared area in a wild flower bed. All of them are wild varieties. :dbgrtmb:

                              Keep well

                              Aloha!
