Very sunny now and getting warm. Forecast for tomorrow is getting colder and -3C tomorrow night. :rolleyespink: Then sub zero nights for a few days. Everything outside has to fend for itself. :noidea:

No it’s wood frame with plastic windows, I’ve just put bubble wrap inside to keep the heat in :spinning:

Ok ...I remember it now ,where do you keep it, close to a main house wall? If so I think it should be fine especially with the additional bubble wrap.

          Imo...that is!!:fingers crossed::fingers crossed: :biggrin:

Good morning everyone, complete turnabout in the weather today.....summer is over and it's winter once more. It was lovely while it lasted.:heehee:.

No @Flumpy haven't heard a word about Verdun , I know he had family issues to deal with. I think he's left the forum now as his name doesn't highlight up anymore .Sad isn't it, we've both known him a long time starting back on the GW Forum.

Re. Your greenhouse, I only mentioned a house wall because our large coldframe runs along one of ours and makes a big difference . Just keep a close eye on yours then and add more fleece if need be. Tonight we're in for hitting - 3 , so I will add yet another layer.

                Have a lovely day everyone.:spinning:

Good morning Upsydaisy , yes I remember Verdun on GW he was always telling me it never snows in Cornwall :heehee: I knew he was pulling my legs.

we too have a layer of snow here, it was a shock when I opened the curtains :yikes:, hope it clears later, I was meant to be picking my card and chocolate egg up from my parents today, fingers crossed the sun comes out, what are you upto today? Ho thanks for the advice too Upsydaisy :dbgrtmb:

Hi there @Flumpy ..sorry just logged back on.
We have sun now too, not sure for how long.
If it's still sunny by 11 then I'll start moving all the seedlings back to the greenhouse for the day, trouble is there are well over 300!!

Not much planned for today ,just had our daily video call chat with my sister. Dinner is all prepared ( not sure if it will get eaten outside today though!,)

If it looks to remain sunny I will do at least one lot of laundry too.

I also plan to video call our eldest to see how things are with them...he looked absolutely shattered on Friday. They are both still having to work from home and both have very demanding jobs with equally demanding responsibilities. That on top of only moving a fortnight ago and having work carried out in their apartment while trying to keep a professional online appearance up for work is proving difficult .

Enjoy your day, and your choccy egg too.:dbgrtmb:

Well that was a very nippy night!! I am nervously waiting for the sun to warm up the greenhouse before I dare to open it. Everything was covered in 4 layers of fleece before being placed in the bubble wrapped section of the greenhouse... nail biting times!!!

It has to be said we are enjoying a lovely sunny start to our day though.

                        Keep warm, keep safe!:spinning:

Good Morning Upsydaisy and anyone else who is rising!, my car is just defrosting in the sun, thankfully I don’t have to set off until 8.20, it will be better as there will be no crazy school run cars on the road
The sun is working it’s way around to my greenhouse, I can see frost on it at the moment, lovely blue sky though. Hope you all have a lovely day and wrap up warm :spinning::chicken:

                              Aloha everyone,

I've been rather busy for the last few days and also having to limit my screen time.

The garden is beginning to look really good with the vast amount of Spring colour. The primroses etc. have been spreading like mad all through the garden. Friends have been going away with dozens of them and Lewis, who helps in the garden, has planted a lot on a hill in his local park where he and his girlfriend sit. :)

I'm not particularly worried about the plants in the greenhouse as it should be sufficient protection for them, although it might slow them down. The roof is high enough to keep the intense cold away (apex over 7ft) and the stone path in the cetre should retain some marginal warmth. The warmth emitted by Sarafi (who spends a lot of time in there) is probably counteracted by us leaving the door open a bit so he can come and go. :noidea: What greenhouses do is keep the frost off and the cold wind out :blue thumb:

I still haven't had the bonfire but the wind has now turned in the right direction. So I may light it if the wind is not too strong for it to keep the surrounding trees safe. Our new neighbour has added some branches to it.

                              Keep well

                              Aloha!
