Hi, I bought this shrub recently and planted it in a pot - embarrassingly I cannot remember what it is and I threw the plastic tag thing away. I quite like it though and was wondering if someone was able to tell me what it is as I was thinking of seeing if I could find some more but in different colours. Thanks :)

Hi Susie, a close up would be great, the photo is a bit blurry. If the leaves are aromatic, I believe it's a Rosemary. A lovely herb to use with roasties and chicken. Cuttings root readily even in a glass of water so you can increase the stock all summer.

Unfortunately there are no other colours apart from Rosemary blue and it doesn't flower for very long period- but occasional surprise flowers may open throughout the year. :)

That's what I thought too. The leaves look to fine for Rosemary

Actually, you could well be right there Pete. The leaves are a bit short for a Rosemary. I'm two years behind a visit to optician so any id is mostly a blurred guess.

        Hi everyone :)

Here are a couple more photos, still a little blurry, I'm afraid my photography skills are as bad as my gardening!! I've not noticed any aroma to the flowers, the foliage feels very soft and feathery. I'd actually forgotten I had joined this forum until I tried to join again and it said the email address was already in use! Just after I joined back in 2015 I had to move house and ended up living in a flat with no garden for four years! Have moved again now to a house with a small garden so limited on space hence all my plants being in pots.

Aha thank you, yes that looks like it. I picked it because the tag said it was hardy and since I'm not a very good gardener I need something that doesn't need too much attention!

I do like heathers though. I didn't realise you could grow them in pots as my parents always used to use them in rock gardens for ground cover. If they do well in pots I may see if I can get some as I love all the different colours :)

Depending on your soil, as some heathers wont grow in limey soil, you can grow them for a fair time in biggish pots.
I go for the winter flowering types as they tend to be less fussy about soil type.
