I'm old-fashioned and don't like nosy questionnaires. I'm quite happy to fill in lots of details for some questions (in the old paper ones I used to list at least 400 words for what jobs I do and wrote small enough to be able to get it all in the box provided :heehee:) and others I just write MYOB (mind your own business) - and have never had any comeback for it. :noidea:

They can always get most of the info from their other databases. :)

I've just done the Census and was anticipating some "jobs worth" questions but, all in all, it wasn't a bind to answer. I did want to answer the question about Religion and it asking you if you had a religion or not,, with "Well, my Mother gave me the middle name of Thomas so I might have a religion, but I Doubt it.":dunno:

The online version works differently to paper version, which makes things easier. If an answer on the online version excludes the need for a further question on the matter then it doesn't show it. Whereas in the paper version all questions are visible.

That is good but, apparently, it tends to make choices for you that excludes something you would rather say, or not say.

"Automatic routing also allows us to present respondents with different versions of a question depending on the answers they have previously given."

I filled in the census for both myself and for Mrs Shiney. We didn't have all the same questions! I went back to alter one of my questions because I didn't like the changed options for the next question (sorry, but I can't discuss what the differences were).

A presenter on the radio tonight was complaining about his form. He's of African origin but he is, I think, third generation in this country. It didn't give him the option to say that he thinks of himself as English but only gave him the choice of British.

When they start doing things like that I start using MYOB more. :paladin: :)

He should have chosen "other", that option allows you to fill in your own definition. I did that on several questions as did The Teenager. And I heroically resisted "viking" many times

In the 2001 census Jedi was listed as the fourth largest religious group in the country with 404,000 people putting that on their census form. In the 2011 census it had dropped to 170,000. I wonder how many there will be this time.

A large amount of countries had significant numbers listed as Jedi. New Zealand had 53,000 out of a population of just over 3 million people of voting age.

There were also, in our 2001 census, many thousand listed as Klingon under the ethnicity section.

I actually entered that in the 1981 Census. The collector had a good laugh. :heehee:

The following census I was one of the people collecting forms from those who didn't want to post them. You have to be an idiot to volunteer for it. :roflol:

I wonder how many people will be filling out the last page about visiters when we are still in lockdown-ish

I'd have thought you would send it by carrier pigeon. Then you wouldn't need to go near anybody :)

Had a visit  from cenus
luckly it wasn't for us :yay:it was for a neighbour;) but the cenus guy couldn't find the house as postcode comes to our address, so we put him on the right track as the house he was looking for was 1 mile away  (so a nice walk for him)
we also ask him if he had our address on the list just to make sure they got our cenus form

So i can say they do visits
