We've had a terrible set back. And not much vaccine in sight. Lots of empty promises from Mr. Drama, our Prime Messerup.

Our province had 3K cases two days in a row. Toronto and two cities that are right beside it were responsible for 2,500 of those. 1,135 of yesterday's were the variant first recognised in the UK.
2 months ago, they caught two people hosting UK visitors without quarantining and not only were they spreading the thing socially, they also worked at hospitals! And that was pretty much the source of this rapidly transmitting variant.

We are probably busy making variants of our own. I mean why should Canada be left out of making a new one? :lunapic 130165696578242 5:

Toronto is only about 1/2 hour drive from me. Luckily I don't like the place so wouldn't be going there anyway but it just shows how poorly our government has handled the situation compared to over there.

My region has a very low infection rate and I am presuming it's because we are a wee bit more civilized. Well, I like to pretend that's what it is! :heehee:

I see they are drip-feeding this idea to try and get folks used to it - What are the UK plans for Covid passports?

We've gone from not having them at all, to them being 'considered' and talked about a hell of a lot in the media (just the way masks were, funnily enough) with carefully worded statements such as "they won't be used in this phase" and so on.

They may as well get on with imposing them and have done with it.

Now, where do I pick up my "unclean" badge and do I need to ring a wee bell or something when I am out?

Some how I dont think the vaccine passport will become reality, I dont think its workable.

Something one of the millions of clever people who keep appearing on TV news in the mornings came out with was you need to turn up and take whatever vaccine they are using on the day.

That maybe ok for the first jab, but I'm not sure I want a different vaccine for the second.

So, if you go for the second and its different to what you had last time do you just walk out and make another appointment hoping they are using the right one on the day.

All seems a complete muddle to me.

I thought that you would receive the same vaccine type for jab number 2 as your first jab. To my knowledge there are no plan to mix vaccines at this stage.

I've got plenty of badges and bells available but don't think they will be needed. :)

There are already people offering to produce covid passports 'for a price' but passports are almost certainly unlikely to be needed except in certain circumstances. Some form of them are already needed for travelling abroad but that is something that has already been brought in by some holiday companies.

Mrs Shiney is also someone who is unable to have the vaccine. :dunno:

They've already stated that won't happen and that is why they are now holding back the AZ for the second dose for people.

My second jab is on Saturday.

Yeah I was told when I had the first one to make sure I get the AZ second one.
But there appears to be no way of knowing what vaccine a place will be using when, so as I say, is it turn up and hope for the best or what?????

That's the nub of the issue. On the news the other week - people using fake vaccine certifcates to get into the UK.

IMHO is should be for the individual to take personal responsibility for their own safety. If you have been vaccinated then you can attend the event without worrying about catching or spreading the virus. If you have not had the vaccine, but still attend the event - then the risk is yours.

Vaccine passports won't work - people will tell you that they are discrimintory and infringe civil liberties.

But how can they say that wont happen when vaccine centers don't even know themselves what they will be using on any given day.

I can see that if its done at a surgery they will make sure that they have the same vaccine when you go second time, but those of us going to the mass vac centers dont know what they are using when, even they dont know.
