    Aloha everyone,

Very frosty here but sunny. I can't put the sprinkler back on until it warms up a bit.

I'll be going into town today as I need to go to the trade wholesalers (building trade plus odds and ends) to get a number of garden things and some for the house. Some of our hose parts are getting old and cracking up (I know the feeling :heehee:) and I need a couple of waterstop connectors and a couple of sprays. Then I shall go on to the library :yahoo: and pick up a dozen books. I'll check with Mrs Shiney if there's anything else for her but shan't go into any shops that are busy.

    Keep well

    Aloha!

Hi @Flumpy ...same here too, we hit -5 last high, hopefully only down to -3 tonight.
I still keep most of the seedlings inside but take them into the greenhouse once the sun has reached it. Much better light levels in there.:dbgrtmb:

      Enjoy your day too .:)

Isn't it funny how we change our ways? I love my books and am never without having a couple on the 'go' , but I could never go back to ' in your hand ' library books. Don't get me wrong ..I love the feel of holding a real book.. I think we could start our very own library!!
In the past I have found ( unmentionables probably) stuck on borrowed books.....kids and adults!!
I shudder when you hear of people reading on the toilet too!!:yikes:

I'm now bordering paranoia when it comes to library books...you can't really and truly disinfect them and I don't want to have to wear gloves to read them.:dunno:

You can leave them in the garage for a few days to minimise the spread of bugs but the actual muck is still on them ..even if it can't be seen.
Thankfully our county library has a really fabulous online service.....so when I borrow it's now ebooks only!!

I can't remember, for some years, seeing a book from the library that looks the least bit grubby and, nowadays, all the books that are taken from the 'returns' boxes and put on the shelves are 'misted' first (friend at the library told me :blue thumb:).

Reading books on screen loses all their character as far as I'm concerned (apart from me not being able to use a screen for too many hours a day) and I brought home 12 good reads.

One thing that was certainly different at the library was the amount of computers being used. For the last few years they have had about two dozen in operation in one section of the library (it's a big library) and the noise of all of them clicking away and the people talking, not loudly, amongst themselves was quite distracting. They now only have five computers available.

Returning and borrowing books is all done with no touching of anything. No mask, no entry and contact details on entry. :)

Cold nights but lovely days at the moment.

The lovely days can stay but just wish the nippy nights would move on to somewhere else now....getting fed up with them.

            Have a great day !:spinning:

              That's good then @shiney :)

I read on my tablet which is the same size of a small book .Whenever I read for any length of time I was switch on blue shade ....certainly stops eye strain.

They 'mist' all the pages?? I wonder.;) My friend Sarah works at our main one and yes they mist all the book covers.

Anyway whatever keeps the love of reading encouraged if great by me...:dbgrtmb:

My eye conditions don't allow me to be at any kind of computer screen for too many hours per day but I can read a book non-stop from cover to cover in a day. :)

The sun has now come out and in a little while I'll move the sprinkler to another part of the bed. If I have the sprinkler on a bed for two hours it takes two days to do the flower beds in the front garden :phew: :rolleyespink: The bees and wasps are loving the watering as well as the birds.

I never water the lawns otherwise I'd be forever mowing. :)

                Keep well

                Aloha!

Hope that you're all full of the joys of Spring, looks like another lovely ( albeit very dry ) day ahead..

My dodgy knee has been giving me a bit of gyp these last few days, might have to dose myself up a bit today.

Not sure what the plans ( if any) are today. Going to have a video chat with my 3yr old great nephew this morning....he's so adorable.!! :imphrt:
He will undoubtedly help me to laugh away my pain...he makes you giggle non-stop with all his mischievous antics.:roflol:

Whatever you're up to have brilliant day.:spinning:

                      Aloha everyone,

@Upsydaisy I hope you feel better later on and have a nice rest in the sunshine when it has warmed up. :)

I think today I'll do some gardening and after that I'll do some gardening - and then I think I shall do some gardening! :heehee:

I might do a bit of cooking and eating in-between. Plus popping up to the surgery to pick up prescriptions.

                      Keep well

                          Another lovely day has dawned.
A day of pricking out and potting up in the greenhouse and a general ' see what needs to be done' kind of day out in the garden.

I'm sure there will be enough to keep me out of mischief making!
