    Aloha everyone,

    Unfortunately not :sad:, but it was an enjoyable tournament and we finished reasonably high up on the table :blue thumb: - but out of the prizes :noidea:

    Tonight we have the last teams match of this season's County League (top division). don't know how well we shall do as one of our team thinks he has a touch of flu. Fortunately it's all played online nowadays so no danger of catching anything. :)

    This morning we shall be going to a friend's garden to split and take their Hostas. A couple of years ago we did the same and had over twenty of them.

    Keep well :biggrin:

    Aloha!

      Aw that's a shame, but it's the taking part that counts :)( and equally being good enough to be selected to take part in the first place!! :blue thumb:).

      Thanks, you've reminded me of another job to add to my list...splitting the Hostas.

            We just pot them up in larger pots with ordinary potting compost. They normally recommend a seaweed feed but we use tomato feed for almost everything. At the end of season remove dead leaves and top up with compost. Works for us. :blue thumb:

              Lovely day to come again.:SUNsmile:

              My brother has his driving assessment test this morning ( because of his Alzheimer's diagnosis) .
              They phoned me yesterday to say that I should go with him:yikes:....not looking forward to this at all. The other issue I raised with them was about the car to be used in the test....I had filled out the online form and informed them of his needs and of the adaptations that have had to be made to his own car but I got the sneaky suspicion yesterday that they hadn't read it!! I told them that he can't get into any other car but his own as his driving seat is a specially fitted one and is also on extended runners to allow him to get in/out. He has panoramic rear view mirror as he has limited neck movement, he had a knob handle on his steering wheel and last but not least he can now only drive an automatic. She hastily made a note, so I hope they have an appropriate vehicle for his test!!

              When I told my brother he went into panic mode( definitely not good when you have A D). He had always been adamant that the test would be done in his own car, because he has been driving for nearly 40 yrs and he wouldn't need to have dual control support.....despite me telling him this wasn't so and that all test cars need dual control, but as is becoming the norm with him now ( sadly due to his illness) I was wrong and he was right!!

              Well I am right on this occasion and he is one very anxious man this morning that I have now got travel with into the city at 9am this morning....I just hope rush hour is still below normal standard!!

              I'm not the one doing the 2 hour assessment.... and even I have butterflies in my stomach. I just have sit in the waiting room and be there for support if they decide he can't drive anymore!!!:yikes: Great...my brother will go manic....he says his life will be over without having his car..... Trouble is he would have to drive us home too as there is no way I could drive it with such adaptations!!!

              Not often I wish time to move on...but I do want this morning over with!!!:fingers crossed::fingers crossed::fingers crossed::fingers crossed::fingers crossed::fingers crossed::fingers crossed::fingers crossed:

              After my rantings.... hope you all have a great day!:heehee:. :spinning:

                Good morning Upsy. My love and thoughts go with you. I am not sure your brother should be driving anyway as you know, especially with is forgetfulness. I look forward to hearing from you later. Vxx

                  Aloha everyone,

                  @Upsydaisy good luck today. :grphg:

                  If any of you haven't already seen this thread I think you will want to. :sad:

                  MY LAST POST

                  We're now working on preparing possible plants that a landscape gardener might need for a new garden he's doing. He'll be popping round tomorrow to discuss things but we haven't the faintest idea the size of the beds or how many he wants.

                  I picked up 13 Hostas yesterday from a friend who wanted a good home for them and I'm off later to pick up some other plants that also need a new home (Mrs Shiney forgot to tell me what they are :rolleyespink:).

                  She's working her way through our nursery beds to pull out likely candidates.

                  Keep well :biggrin:

                  Aloha!

                      But understandably your health must take priority. Look after yourself dear friend and I wish you all the very best things that life has to offer you.

                      Any chance of perhaps a yearly look in and up date????? Please.

                      We'll all miss you very much indeed. Rest up in your garden and enjoy a lovely summer..

                        Must dash as we have to go out again.
                        After a traumatic start ( he was making every excuse under the sun as to why he had to cancel) managed to get to the assessment place in the nick of time.Phew!!

                        Have to admit it must have been very taxing for him....they certainly do a good job!!
                        2 and a half hours later and they confirmed that there are signs of his dementia creeping in but as yet not at a level to cause danger to others , he must however go through it all again in 6mths time!!!

                          Hubs heard that he's got an app. for his 2nd Covid jab next week so that is good news. I am roughly 2-3 weeks behind him so mine shouldn't be that far away either.:dbgrtmb:
