The photos here have made me realise that!

No, sadly my work rota usually involved covering at least some of the bank holiday weekend - last year was the first year I was hoping to make it, and then covid :rolleyespink:

Such sad news. @ARMANDII was a very welcoming character when I first joined earlier this year. His first messages to me where full of humour as well as graciously passing on his sound gardening advice. Our garden has already benefited from his and other members of the GC gang's input. In one of his messages, he said he would enjoy seeing our garden grow. I'd like to think that perhaps he will, but as one of the little birds that come to visit.

          :spinning:

I'm fine thanks @JWK. Haven't posted on here for a while, but still pop in occasionally to see what's going on.
So sorry to hear about Armandii. He was one of the first to welcome me when I joined GC about 10 years ago and his humour, knowledge and friendly approach was one of the main reasons I stayed with this forum.
I was lucky enough to meet him a couple of times at Shiney's, and remember him as a kind, thoughtful man with a mischievous sense of humour.
As a gardener, I'd like to think that perhaps the spirit of Armandii lives on in the gardens of his many friends to whom he gave plants and advice over the years.

I have decided in memory of Eddy to divulge in a Clematis Armandii for the wilder part of the garden .:old:

It will represent his friendliness and his bravery to bare what must have been a very serious life threatening illness.. :cry3:

He was the type of person who made you feel as though you knew him ,even though I didn't have that pleasure of this I wished that I had.
              :cry3:
I remember chatting to him on here where he had suggested that a visit to
              The Garden's open day at
Mr n Mrs Shiney's was well worth it ,and always a pleasant day meeting intresting and friendly self minded gardeners, A day:yes:
to be enjoyed by all :wow:
              .
              Thank you Eddy x

                Eddy and Trunky in 2017
                P1320199.JPG

A much older photo in 2012 and it was a very hot day. The butler sinks behind Eddy were, a few years later, bought by Eddy and I think Trunky and pete may have helped get them to his car. There is still one sink left that he had intended picking up this year :noidea:

This was the Father Christmas outfit that he donated to the charity for their Christmas party.

Well. I think I only started going to Shiney's place around 2016 and must admit I dont often look at the page of peoples pictures.

My memory for faces and especially names is pretty awful also.

Well, I have never been to Shineyland ... but I am a day older, but it doesn't erase my memory. Maybe it is a man thing! :heehee: However, in saying that I do not recognise the hiding gal or the couple ... @shiney ????
