What's buzzing or flying near you 2021?

A sure sign the weather is turning cold again, the Long Tailed Tits returned today.

 

Portland Bill for a walk today, no Seals or Dolphins but a few local birds.

A drake (male) Garganey, our only summer visiting duck just arrived from Africa and decided to stop off at Poole Park lake.

 

Crossbills in the forest, almost eye level instead of way up in the trees.

At my son's home near Columbus, Ohio. He's not identified the parents yet but it's been suggested they are American House Finches and like to nest in nooks and crannies around houses. @hydrogardener I wonder please if you can confirm this?



And this is where the nest is....behind and at the top of this sunflower on the front door.

 

I am sorry but I can not confirm the identification. We have house finches but they have no place to nest on our house or shed. The robins try but we remove the nests immediately because they make a big mess.
