    Thanks :)

Our local vaccination centre is now doing 60+ and hopes to start 50+ soon. I'm 49

Anyways, I'm healthy and don't need to leave the house so can wait a bit longer. Either the queue goes down quickly, or I turn 50 :heehee:

Things are speeding up here! As it turns out, I'll be getting jabbed before OH, although he's been eligible for some time and I wasn't. God help the cats and chickens, not to mention the plants, if I'm out of action for more than a day. Can't find a nail-biting smiley...

We're down to the 40's age group here, my niece and her hubby have theirs booked for next week.:hapydancsmil:

Can't wait until our 3 get theirs, they are 31, 32 and 35 ...all have birthdays soon so will hopefully move higher up the list...a bit.:fingers crossed: But every bit helps . Not sure where London has reached in their roll out though.:noidea:

Can you walk-up to a vaccine centre without appointment and get a Covid-19 jab?

You can book an appointment, at the Life Centre Newcastle main railway station

Also they have mobile facilities for those in Rural Northumbria post codes

            Good luck hope this helps

@clanless Sadly that 30% for Canada is for having administered one dose. Fully vaccinated is less than 3%.

I got my first vaccination yesterday. The second is booked for August. There's lots getting bookings who are only 40 but that is all, bookings. Some are months away!

Spot the deliberate mistake? Does that graphic suggest to anyone else that the smaller the country/island, the easier it has been to catch the inhabitants?

All the (single decker) buses I've seen around here have had between zero and 2 passengers.

                    England was ahead.

Now that vaccinations have moved to younger age groups, I wonder if England has a greater percentage of those who are anti vaxxers?

Read an article the other day about the island of Tristan da Cunha - it's in the middle of the Atlantic - population of 200 - but it is a British Overseas Territory. The RAF flew the vaccine to the Falklands and then the Navy took it to the the island. We're not messing about are we.

I've been reading multiple 'reader's comments' posts on some online newspapers, and they are convinced that the massive reduction in UK's Covid cases is entirely due to 'seasonalty' of the virus and has nothing to do with vaccinations, warmer Spring weather being responsible (have you noticed it?).

They are deliberately ignoring the fact that India is in the Northern Hemisphere and has the same seasons as us, and their infection levels are out of control.

                          I haven't noticed the warmer weather, no.
Reduction in numbers must be the vaccine and the restrictions that are still there.

As for India, well I dont think they have social distancing.

Given the April/May temps in India, it certainly disproves my pet theory that viruses are killed off at temps above 30C. Shame, because it does work for Brugmansias....

That brings back memories. :blue thumb:

The island was evacuated in 1961 when the volcano blew up. They were, and still are, part of the British south Atlantic Islands which comprise of Tristan, St Helena and Ascension islands as the only inhabited ones in the group. They were evacuated to England and hated it! They voted to return to the island in 1963. I knew some of them (worked with them in the island group) and they were lovely people.

I worked out that way from 1962-64 and was at the American missile tracking station on Ascension when JFK was assassinated.
