Oh thank you @Sian in Belgium :love30: I couldn't do much to be honest. I'll just have to wait until tomorrow to see what I can salvage

Rescuing everything that crashed when the blowaway went over!

All the sweet peas were upside down in the root trainers, remnants now in pots, chrysanthemums looking sad shoved back in tray.

Tomato’s and labels shoved back in, now it’s a guessing game which is which.

Nicotiana lost a few leaves, lucky I over seeded each pot!

Had so little free time recently, have been cramming what I can in. Mostly weeding and breaking up compacted beds before the rain hit. Moved a few things about to the new pond and sifted a few yew plants from the new hedge to extend it somewhere else.
Finally got to see dad after many months so tidied a bit in his garden and nicked a few plants :) recuperated at the beach...
Wind is howling here and just remembered a pot on the wall outside; will it survive?!

Oh no @Tinkerbelle61 that's a real shame, I hope you manage to save most of them.

I've now given up trying to look outside, the wind is raging out there still at 51mph. Dreading what I might find tomorrow. The noise is terrific!!!:yikes:

I potted an Iochroma Cutting which rooted and cut 25cm off my pink Brugmansia which suddenly came to life after years of dormancy! :dunno: I have put the cutting in water with three Honeysuckle cuttings and hope all root. :fingers crossed: I am now going to read up on braiding and standardising the Honeysuckle.

Brugmansia sauvolens when it bloomed in 2008 .. (yes, that is zero eight) ...

PS Maybe the original rootstock will grow. It has been buried in Tradescantia 'Blushing Bride' all these years and suddenly we saw a fresh stem.

Wind has blown over a lilac tree in full bloom! Base looks rotten so it's either the clutter of ivy and undergrowth or honey fungus :( other trees have demised in similar manner over the years...

Outside, the only thing I've done is a quick walk around the little gardens to see what is growing back. Last fall I split my rhubarb into about 4 pieces (can't remember if it was 4 or 5) and only 2 have come up. I hope the other pieces forgive me and start showing.

I've moved a few things around in the greenhouses. Wish it was nicer so I could move my lavender but I guess the rain is doing the gardening for me today by watering everything quite thoroughly.

When the wind died down I dug out two trenches and planted the asparagus crowns, so now we have to stay here at least another two years. Also spent a while perched on a conveniently placed stack of paving slabs to watch the hens for a while; the slabs are going down for the greenhouse floor this weekend so need to look into a bench for the same spot.

They also self seed very easily too ,we have them popping up everywhere even between the brickwork in the paths. Love them though, brilliant for the butterflies in particular .:dbgrtmb:

I wish they would self seed here, but don't seem to be getting the idea. I bought several plants a few years back, hoping I would get some self seeders:dunno:. The Fleabane and Toadflax self seeds everywhere , which I am very pleased about:hapydancsmil:.

Had a windy walk in the beach yesterday morning . Wind had died down a little, but still cold enough to need hat, scarf, gloves and winter jacket. Stared at patio bed when I got back, still thinking about what to put in it. Also need to buy paint and give it a bit of a sand soon. I did intend to do some gardening in the evening, but R took the garage key with him to work so couldn't access my tools!

Apart from Alpines is there anything I can plant in my Belfast sinks that will not require watering ( or very infrequently ) and will not need the compost/ soil changing ?
