@Upsydaisy ,I went to the large vaccination centres as I was told from the start my doctors surgery were not doing them.
It was simple I booked both jabs, online, the same time and just had to go along on correct day.

Thanks pete, I thought ours was simple enough going by hubs experience and we did know in advance that our surgery were doing them.
Perhaps I have just been unlucky :dunno:.

Apparently 34 planes landed in Faro yesterday ... 17 from the UK and 17 from elsewhere! Have heard three off in the distance this morning. Faro is not open to air traffic between the hours of 11pm and 6am.

Well just had words.... She told me they sent me two texts last week!! Just in case I was going doolally I checked my mobile again, nothing at all....so I was given an extension line to phone,I was told that they aren't doing 2nd Pfizer jabs at the moment....so how come I had been texted and apparently missed mine?? ' Not sure what they're up too' I was reassuringly told. ' No 2nd Pfizer clinics for at least a couple of weeks, only 1st's phone again in a fortnight to see if we have any dates for you '

I would just turn up and say you were told to get your second jab as it's overdue.

In theory our surgery text or phone people about it. I didn't trust them to phone me (they can't text me) and phoned the week before it was due and they told me to turn up the next day.

I never trust any organisation to do anything on time so I chase them. :noidea:

But you also need the percentages of those vaccinated and unvaccinated to see whether vaccinations are making any difference.

33% of those hospitalised had at least one jab, but if only 33% have already had at least one jab then vaccinations would appear to be making no difference (it's a bit more complicated than that with 2 variables for 1st and 2nd jabs).

PM says 'we'll know in few days' if restrictions will lift on 21 June.

It is likely that those who have now had 2 jabs are going to ignore whatever Boris says and will go back to some sort of normality - accepting the risk. People are doing it now - I've seen them - particularly the older gentle folk.

Boris would be silly indeed to try to extend restrictions beyond 21st - he needs to except those who have full vaccine protection.

You definitely have to chase the NHS, they have so much on their plate they hope you give up.
You also need to know if those hospitalised were on their last legs anyway.
Lots of things need to be taken into account.

I heard some MP on the BBC saying we dont like to refer to this as the Indian variant, but ******
whatever its scientific number was, but they didn't mind calling the other one the Kent variant, that was alright I suppose.
Double standards, yet again, to avoid upsetting certain communities.:roflol:

Does anyone have one of those cards that they give you when you get vaccinated.
I had one after the first dose, but I cant find it now.
Do they keep it after you get your second dose?

Also they were saying on the news you can always show your NHS app if anyone wants proof you have been done.
So where do you get that from, I know you can download NHS apps etc. but how do they know you have had the vaccine.

Yes, still got mine it's in the wallet with the info on dates, type and batch of vaccine filled in.
It's on a central database and when I went onto EMIS patient access website to get a prescription this week; it was on their as well.

Got mine, it was updated when I had the second jab. It doesn't look much use if ever I was asked to show it, it doesn't have any personal data, not even my name, so it could belong to anyone.

I seem to have lost my card somewhere then.

I'm not sure my doctors is on a central website, I have to send an e mail to an adress in order to get repeat prescriptions .

Edit, I've found the card, I'd put it with my driving license for some reason.
