Had a busy garden day yesterday. Cut back clematis armandii as it had got very straggly-I've cut it back so hard but left a couple of green shoots-it can back with extra vigour last time so hopefully will do the same again.

I cleared up an outside border and planted more crocosmia, exchanged some of the plant pots where the tulips had gone over and potted in some pretty lewisia. Got the strimmer out and did some edge tidying up.

Dave cut the grass, change the pond filter bulb and cleaned the sponges, took out two garden lamp posts and put in some new "uplighting" into the border instead. He's also made the frame for the back window of the Anderson Shelter- cant wait til it is done.

It was lovely to sit in the garden last night and have a bbq and enjoy all the plants and the pond. Makes it all worth it

Came back from a night away and managed a couple of hours in the garden. Weeding (obviously), dumped a few plants that were clearly not going to make it and moved some bluebells to the wild area. Also half trimmed the last camellia and had a nice surprise - a neighbour had dropped off some tomato plants for me :) much much better that the ones I've managed too so happy days

I couldn't get to my composter safely because of all the weeds and general rubbish surrounding it. I have spent the weekend, on and off, tidying up (moving the rubbish to somewhere less conspicuous) and digging out the weeds.

I was given some hollyhocks seeds which I have sown. I don't know whether they will take or not but I am happy to wait and see. This area is visible from the road so I would like it look as tidy as possible.

          G.

Another long day in the garden. :) Sorted out the front after deciding to go all Geranium in the ridiculously difficult bed and mostly Erigeron on the central one rather than cramming in a bit of this and that. Hopefully it'll look like "planting en masse" rather than "she ran out of ideas".

Potted on everything and planted summer containers, ran out of Cosmos, finished, found two Cosmos. :wallbanging:

The toms, cucumbers, cucamelon and chilli Hungarian Black went into the raised bed. I decided not to bother with the cover (the bed is in fact built within a walk in blowaway plastic greenhouse) as just taking the cover out seems to induce gale force winds. Sew a couple of beetroots and spring onions on courtesy of seedbox exploration, and then scattered Dill seeds all over wherever there was some soil. We do eat a lot of the stuff

Finished with a coating of slug pellets. I'm not a fan of stuff that kills things but after years of losing battle with the blighters pellets it is. :paladin::paladin::paladin:

And finally, sitting back and enjoying. :) The Mini Angels' trumpets look fine, alpine strawberries are flowering and the Rosemary is fab as always.

Everybody's gardens and nooks look fabulous!

The benches impress me too. :)

I've only been washing the last of the seedling pots and putting them away until the fall. When I walked up the side to dump the used water in a garden, I noticed paint streaks on the lawn and then realized that the gas line people had come by to mark where the underground pipes are buried. I took pics (with my camera, not my phone!) as I want to keep them for future reference and also in case the grass gets long and needs mowing before the fence people get here.

And I used some broad leaf weed killer in the invading clumps of weeds coming from both side of me.

It is a beautiful sunny day and up to 75f at the moment. So I'm going back out there to putter. And hopefully get some pictures of the hummingbird that has been visiting since I put out a feeder for it :dbgrtmb:

I did a lot of weeding at the bottom of the garden, and got two sacfulls ! - it has been neglected [IMG]
Planted Sweet Peas in the ground, watered things in a perspex shelter and cold frames.
Moved a chimney pot to a 'better' position.
Took cuttings of Impatiens niamniamensis and Tradescantia zebrina, and put them in water to root.

After an early bike ride and a chat to a herd of moo moos I've spent most of today in the garden. Gorgeous weather, couldn't waste it. Not all of it was spent gardening. Quite a lot of time reclining and enjoying the garden and the wildlife. Jobs I did get around to were cutting grass between us and next door, cutting grass in the side garden , cutting grass in old bun run and cutting the hedge in there. Watered and fed 3 hydrangeas and my Patio Rose.

Yesterday afternoon was spent in the greenhouse, potting things on including melons, cucumbers and chillies I got from B&G last week as mine were so rubbish this year. I picked up, putting strings up for tomatoes. Pricked out basil and marigolds.

                              Bless him...he's always polite!!;) @Logan

Done loads this morning despite being interrupted by phone calls......I thought my sister and son's knew better than to disturb my garden time!!!:heehee::nonofinger:

Planted out some Amaranthus, Stocks and Fuchsia.
Cut back the Wallflowers that I want to keep. Deadheaded the Bellis and Poppies. Planted out some Heucheras that I grew last year from cuttings

Emptied out two more big planters and replaced the compost and planted them out. The one by the gate had a huge ants nest!!

Letting my dinner settle before the afternoon session!
