Lesser Redpolls, young Chaffinch don't have the streaking on the front like these but would be showing a pale wing bar.

Thanks, I first thought Chaffinch but couldn't see the white bars as images online, then remembered seeing a small flock of Lesser Redpolls flying around the area earlier this year, but although I could find images online that looked like them, I found others that didn't (lots of wrong id's online). Good to know they are breeding where we go dog walking every day.

Not entirely sure what any of these are so IDs would be hugely appreciated, just verifications wanted for the first 2 I think (Mason Bee and Cockchafer? Any idea of the species with the latter?), the last two are tiny little things and I'm not even sure the last one can fly, but both quite pretty IMO!

Brilliant, thanks so much @Scrungee, always love to learn more about insects! :love30::)

Yeah, I just can't figure out what that is despite repeated googling, was about the size of a ladybird, maybe even a little smaller and spent ages walking all over my eryngium leaves, iridescent and beautifully coloured going from blue at the front to dark purple at the back. :dunno:

There are loads of bees in our garden with the lovely sound of buzzing. Their favourite plants at the moment are the Weigelia. We have 11 different types of those. If I remember, when I go back out there, I'll look to see which is more popular - if there is one.

Thanks very much for the suggestion, Woo! :) The colour of those Blue Mint Beetles is absolutely spot on for the front of the one I saw, they seem to lack the dark purple at the back, tho. I even tried looking at Alder Leaf Beetles, but their colour is also uniform! The search continues...
