If it carries on like this we will be spotting the first signs of blight.

Now you know what we up here in the frozen north have to put up with:). Actually I think we have been having slightly better weather recently than you lot down south judging by reading the remarks about the weather on GC. Another week and my cucumbers will definitely be ready and maybe my Garden Pearl ( slightly earlier, usually, than my favourite Sungold). I will draw a veil over the melons which are not even flowering yet.

Yep, apart from a few days here and there its been pretty wet in june, down here, but mostly in two separate occasions, so not spread all over the month.
I tend to expect more from our weather than I should, most of the time anyway.

                  Hi all
I'm after some advice about my poor tomatoes. They have stunted growth and are now turning yellow. I've worked out that I've probably over watered them which I'm pretty gutted about. They has a fantastic start in a conservatory but since going outside they've really gone down hill. My question is can they be revived? I have been feeding them once a fortnight and I was thinking about moving them from pots into raised beds for better drainage. Any advice would be most welcome xx

Did you harden off before putting outside, I mean, were they that sizes when you put them out.

Put some sticks under the pots to allow better drainage, and sit back and hope for dry weather.

Do not water and definitely don't feed.

Hi Pete, yes some were bought on to a rather large size in a conservatory that we have now dismantled, hence why they had to go outside but yes they seemed bigger a few weeks ago!! I was told to take side branches off which felt like I was somewhat distroying their glory! They have some tomato on but haven't flowered much. Definitely not watering for a few days but do you think they've been over fed? Only fed fortnightly with a seaweed feed

My personal thoughts are the roots have stopped working/growing, think they are suffering from shock being put outside.
I dont think I would have been feeding them much yet and definitely not now.

Best advice I can come up with is do nothing and hope for sunny weather.

@Jowo it looks like your tomatoes have magnesium deficiency, maybe the over-watering has washed the nutrients out of the compost. It often happens to tomatoes when they are potted on at this stage of the season and a quick remedy is to spray with Epsom Salts.

You can buy Epsom Salts at a Garden Centre but I bought mine from a chemist as it's much cheaper and you don't need much, it's proper name is Magnesium Sulphate at the chemists - maybe find it online (my small pack has lasted me several years). Dissolve ½ oz in a pint of water (20g/litre) and apply as a foliar spray each day for a week.
