Thank you @clanless I may have to change them then. They've been in about 9 or 10 years.

Ours do that when they're getting old so we have to replace it. Just like @clanless has said.or it could be dust getting in.

Thank you @Logan, I'll change them, they are several years old.
There's always dust around in this house so it could be that too :heehee:

Hubby had his hernia repair operation today. It went well but the surgeon said that it was really bad. They shaved him after they put him under and a local anaesthetic to stop the pain. He's fast asleep now in his chair and he just needs lots of cups of tea,but he's asleep.:dunno:
If you can afford it go private it's so much better.

Hope he recovers well and can return to normal activities soon.

My last three ops, all within 13 months, were all private as are my followups, and no regrets.

Spent the morning with someone at a clinic getting their intravenous meds. Visited a builders supply and got various lengths of Robinson #8 wood screws to replenish my supply. I like this type as there is zero effort to get a good grip.

And avoided going outside after lunch as it is 96f and extremely humid. I did see that I now have far too many rudbeckia in the back border as they seem to be crowding and bullying all the other plants. But it will have to wait to be divided as it is going to be even hotter tomorrow!

I did do a little work on the mending but without enthusiasm and left a bigger pile to complete.

And I downloaded a couple of new books to my Kobo. Hope these are better than the last one. It was a stinker. The guy must have been paid by the word with bonuses for those over 10 letters.

Hope hubby a steady recovery @Logan ...was it mesh surgery...that takes about 4 - 6 weeks :fingers crossed:.

Thankfully I've experienced no issues with the NHS and have had all 11 operations carried out pretty quickly. My only ( totally unjustified) grumble this time has be down to their extreme backlog in cases on the waiting list and the general disruption....but that sadly is out of their control after our recent horrendous times. I required some urgent tests, x-rays and scans a couple of weeks back and all were done within a week to ten days. So on the whole :star: ratings from me.:dbgrtmb:.

My one experience with the NHS was the Health Centre's lack of discovering an issue which worried me so I went private and was operated on immediately for Stage 3 CIN (pre-Cancer). The Surgeon reported them.

I had two surgeries here by the SNS which went perfectly but both were emergencies. I then chose to go private because things were not going as quickly as they should be. This is not to say I would not use them again in an emergency but I will now not use them for general purposes.

Both systems have their good and bad sides.

Lots of work gets done before the midday - sometimes in my jammies whilst the neighbours are all still slumbering. Almost like cat burgler style gardener! :th scifD36: Come to think of it, some of my jammy sets are black.. :heehee:

It is another blistering day today but there was a deafening loud thunderstorm last night which watered everything so that will save me time.

I'm going to a place in a city two over from me to visit a shop to buy threads. Got my list of colours ready and like most places, the shops are air conditioned so shopping is pleasant. :)

Lots of little chores to do when I get back such as dusting (where does that all come from?) and swabbing the decks.

And putting together a mix of tomato and herbs to make bruschetta for supper. Some people only have it as a side dish but mine makes a pretty healthy serving with added cheese.

A nicely paced day :blue thumb:

Thank you and yes it was mesh surgery. The NHS is ok I've had things done but had to wait a long time and that's going back 30 years.

I went to the Dentist to have stitches removed.

Also, been keeping out of the way as our house is being power washed .... well, the sides and back and border wall. T'other Half will do the front due to our flora. The wind is blowing water all over, yuk!

@Victoria did your dentist say that all is well? :fingers crossed:

                              It is pouring again today.

I did go out during one of the lulls and bought cases of pop but it is still in the back of the van as I see no point in getting soaked unloading it. It can wait until later!

I got lots of paperwork done. And this afternoon I will be having a zoom call with 8 of my girlfriends. We miss going out every month and this will be our "catch up" on how everyone is doing.
