We've just got back. I had to put the back seats down as well as we had over a dozen boxes of plants for them. We included a load of perennial geraniums, a whole box of young Stipa arundanacea, a dozen chilli plants and some salvias. :)

Hello everyone, better late than never. Not much of a summer in fact I think it is quite cool for July.I haven't heard any more about my cataract operations. So the likelihood of me being able to drive again grows less. Oh well what will be will be.
Enjoy the rest of your day everyone, stay safe and well, God bless. :wub2:

                          Aloha everyone,

I got loads done in the garden yesterday but overdid it in the heat and was exhausted by evening. I didn't feel up to cooking a meal until around 11 p.m. and felt a lot better after that.

The greedy birds had emptied the bird feeders again :rolleyespink: so I filled them up at 4.30 this morning. They're half empty now - but only the top half. :heehee:

Visitors today, some coming for plants others for lunch - roast beef and all the trimmings.

The sun was out earlier but is now overcast and rain is forecast. We shall still eat outside, under cover.

                          Keep safe

                          Aloha!

A quick good morning as I can hear stirrings from upstairs, which surprises me as we had a very late night as you can imagine.

As I thought I couldn't hold back my tears when they arrived!!!

So very happy, even though it's pouring down, likewise @Flumpy until midweek here too.

                              Have a fabulous weekend....I know I will!!!

                                Aloha everyone,

Yesterday's forecast of rain didn't occur so we had a good day. When our new neighbours popped round for a tour of the garden and to pick up more plants for their new beds their cat came with them. :heehee: It was quite nice as they are all lovely. It was Mrs neighbour, the 5/6 year old, the baby (now just walking/falling down) and the ginger Tom.

The 5/6 year old (non-stop chatterbox) wrote a lovely thank you note for the plants that she helped mum put in the other day. Her spelling was very good and only got one word wrong.. We are "the best ever naboors" :roflol:. We let her walk through the 600sq ft bed of Lychnis and Verbascum chaixii where the flowers are taller then her. The plants were above her head she was totally out of sight. She said it was like walking through fairyland. She was also excited that we gave her a beautiful blackbird nest (we had waited for all the young to fly) as the Euonymous that it was in had to be removed. The plant had grown so big that it was pulling the drainpipe off the wall. Its trunk was 3" in diameter and right up to the roof. The nest, still nestled in its section of trunk and branches will be taken to the village school - a beautiful construction a good 9" diameter.

The baby is being taught to sniff flowers and not to pull them off the plant.

Mrs naboor :heehee: has been given picking rights to come over, even if we're out, and cut any herbs she wants. :blue thumb:

I shan't be around for most of the day as I'm playing in the equivalent of the national cup final for bridge. Seven solid hours of brain strain :phew:

                                Keep well

                                Aloha!
