Yes, it is flowering and there are some tiny fruit developing
I guess it was just getting acclimatised to my conditions.

 

@JWK A couple of years ago I had a problem with a chipmunk going into one of the greenhouses. I thought I was in for a battle. Without me doing anything, it just stopped showing up and I suspect it had something to do with a tiny little bite out of one of the reapers...

 

@JWK , @CanadianLori .. I read somewhere that it's only mammals that feel the chilli heat... so seems plausible re chipmunk!... went outside today to find that a bird had pecked a couple of my apache chillies ( but decided it didn't want the whole fruit).... slugs seem to be loving my habanero leaves , which is annoying.

Sorry but I've not been posting for a while but now my new greenhouse is built, I'm back with a question.

I have three Red Habanero plants. All look healthy. Two of them are from seed source A and one from seed source B.

The source B plant is producing nicely though not yet ripe, but the pods are a decent size (normal).

The source A plants have both produced ripe but tiny pods (see pictures below)!

All are in the same compost and have been fed with Tomorite in the same way.

I have seen similar problems with early Cayenne peppers but never with Habaneros. Has anyone else ever seen this?

I imagine your small chillies carry a wallop of heat. I can't offer an opinion as to why these are so small but then again, I am totally the opposite of many here about watering. I use capillary watering and my chillies are constantly "wet". I've found that some years they will grow tall and others, not so.

We've had a weird old year so far. Over here it's been a long cold spring. Then someone turned on the burner. Then turned it off again, and then high heat and now this morning we're back in the high 60's Fahrenheit.

This is the first year that I've gotten a couple of ripe Trinidadian scorpion chillies in July. Usually I have to wait until September/October for all non cayenne shaped ones.

Others here might have theories that will help you. But know that even the small fruit will hold a punch!

 

Forgot to ask, @Ademission where are the pics of the new greenhouse please!

 

They look lovely and red though. Just don't confuse them as being tomato's else your head will blow up. I love habeneros but they don't love me

If Habaneros are hot I have a number of superhots that really will do damage. No large pods yet on them though.

My other smaller greenhouse (6x8) was always stuffed with both tomatoes and chilis to the point where it was hard to get inside. Even now, I have 21 Maskotka tomato plants in it (both hydro and soil) and there is little room down the middle. I was determined to make things much easier and so bought the bigger greenhouse. I suspect the new greenhouse will be a bit more full next year. Anyway thanks for your kind comments.

Did a bit of garden tidying today. I had two large bags of manure that were going to go into my pumpkin patch before I decided to plant them elsewhere and sack off the project. Listed the bags on freecycle and someone came to collect them.

This freed up space for what was always intended to be my chilli spot in the low greenhouse, put everything out.

Homebase ran out of pots so waiting until they come back in stock so I can properly pot up. Once potted up I'll get the irrigation system ready.

Will have 14 chilli plants in there, mainly jalapeños as that's what we mostly eat!

Somehow I forgot to plant Jalapenos this year but they are ones that I usually grow. I'm a keen cook and use Jalapenos, Birds Eye and Cayenne on a regular basis. This year however I seem to have displaced them with super-hots (maybe not such a wise move!).
