And it was a thick layer of white stuff, not something that looks like it's from a spray can.

The white stuff went on the ground, not just a matter of spraying the grass white.

Looks like our water bills will be going up.
They have fined Southern water 90 million for letting sewage get into the sea.

I really dont see how fining them sorts out the problem, the problem is the sewerage system needs money spent on it, so a 90 million fine isn't going to be very helpful.

They are only aloud to let sewage go into sea/rivers when we have lots of rain ie like a overflow, but some companys are just leting it go when there isn't any rain that why the fine

Quite! But if the fine was specified as having to be paid personally by the MD? :-)

I know why the fine, I just cant see how that helps in sorting out the problem.

The fine should be the money they have to spend on the system
Taking the money elsewhere is just going to reduce what supposed profit they have to a court

Hooooo...given a choice between management bonuses and share dividends or spending on infrastructure, which do you think they'll prioritise?

Damn and thrice damn! For the first time ever, the capsules on the Kilner jars didn't seal during sterilisation. Instead of labelling and storing as planned, I've the whole batch to re-do  Not a good start to the day.....

If they removed all bonuses, dividends etc from the executive until the issue is resolved they'd probably get a bit of action!
