YAWN, YAWN, WAKEY, WAKEY - 2021

Morning @Flumpy , yes that's one of the worse parts about summer isn't ,holiday covering for colleagues!!! Use to hate it when I was in hairdressing....hairdyers pumping out inferno heat and taking on extra clients....adding to the fact there was a heatwave outside too! Not good, we were literally melting with all the heat that was thrown at us.

Yes I remember summer days in work, driving around all day through the traffic in a big town in a hot car, and never being able to find a shady spot to park it. People never lived near trees. Happy memories, and glad they're only memories now

Good morning everyone, it's going to be even hotter today!!

We didn't get much ( if any ) sleep last night as our eldest was feeling unwell and my leg is definitely not coping with this heat , and despite having all the upstairs widows open even hubs found it too warm for sleeping . ....they use to sleep outside during summer back in this home country.

Keep in the shade......if you have any!!

Good morning everyone! It’s 22c here and going to rise to 26 and very still at the moment, it’s been a long hot night.
Popping to my mother in laws as it’s her birthday tomorrow but we are all in work tomorrow so giving her presents early

Thanks @Flumpy and @Michael Hewett ...yes he's fine now thanks, like a lot of people the heat seemed too much ...that and missing lunch to catchup with an old school friend ( and I was told it was alcohol free )

It's Hub's birthday today so we're having an easy morning. He and our no.1 son enjoyed an early morning hike before the temps got too high.
We're having kebabs on the BBQ at lunchtime and .....cake!!

Then our last remaining broodling ( is that even a proper word) heads on back to London mid afternoon.

Youngest has just phoned , he's off to a wedding this afternoon.....phew , I know we all dream of the perfect weather, but this could be too hot, especially in central London.

Son is seeking advice of doing some window boxes ..he and his girlfriend want permanent all year colour and interest, and unusual plantings . He has no idea and is randomly coming up with plants he likes the look of but are not appropriate or practicle.
We are sitting out on the kitchen patio ( last bit of rapidly decreasing shade) surrounded by gardening books!!!

My brother is coming over later too.

Yes son is fine thanks, just had a phone chat with his girlfriend and he's now safely back home with her. They are planning to come down again in August.

I'm just sitting with my feet up, this weather doesn't help my dodgy leg/ knee at all.It's still very warm here 31C ,( in the shade) on our kitchen patio!! Madness!!

Is your Chemist still going to be requesting customers to wear face masks from tomorrow?
