        Hi,

        Thanks so much wiseowl. :)

I hope to join in a bit but I'm currently up to my neck as usual with jobs around the bungalow and gardens and I can't see an end in sight after all it's not let up over the last 34 years of living here. During poor weather I've managed to get into the workshop for a bit of quality time and have just completed designing and making a brazing machine for brazing tungsten carbide tips onto tooling this is rated at 975 amps. I've done so much and learned so much since last being on this forum; two new skills are metal spinning and Tig welding aluminium; perhaps given time I can post these just for interest. I've been on the go since 7 o'clock this morning so I think time now to knock off and watch a movie before bedtime.

        Kind regards, Colin.

Another sunny wind free day and in desperate need of rain. I noticed leaves dropping off the trees earlier so they may be starting to shut down. Perhaps an early Autumn up here this year? 24C/75F

I can only guess at the mow, but there has been lots of hay making going on, so it could be a tedder or rake touch a stone at the hay went up in smoke or a bearing has gone and then got very hot and went up in smoke or bad maintenance and daily checks not being done ie clean out the dust traps around and behind the guards where dust and bits of hay collect, new farm machiney are now working harder/faster to get the jobs done which is now show up problems which is why you must check things!!!!!

                  20c sunny

Currently 20C ,rising to 30C. Thunderstorms are forecast for this evening again but so far we've escaped them.Wouldn't say no to a quick downpour ( whispered)....watering is not a favourite task!!

Gosh scary!! .:yikes:We had that once in the field opposite us, the fire just took hold and whoosh..flames everywhere. The farmer was very laidback and just said ' no worries ,just let it burn... !! Thankfully my old neighbour disagreed ( as it was so close to our properties) and got the fire services out.
I know it can be beneficial to burn the fields to clear everything now and then....but not near people's homes ...and especially without backup safety measures in place!!

78F in the shade and very calm, no clouds (saw one on Sunday). The forecast temps for the near future are 94 today, then 98, 101, and 102, though as always we generally fare slightly better at 2,500 ft. The U/V is just as dodgy however. My helper went back up the mountain to have a shower yesterday, this consists of a long black hose pipe coiled in the sun, tap on one end and a shower head on the other. Open the tap and instant hot water !

Stuble burning is now band because of smoke going across main road

Yes I know Jiffy...this was going back about 25years ago. There aren't any crops grown now in the nearby area....only grazing horses!
