Ok...I have actually done something, and no it's nothing to do with the noisy Cockeral!!

I've had some of our houseplants out for an airing and spruce up . Thought I would attempt to repot the mother-in-law plant and found that it was in fact 2 separate plants, so they are now snuggled up in their own individual pots.

I am now guilt free.

Did the hoeing and have dug up the garlic too! Am considering digging in some compost to get the bed ready for next crop but it is quite warm out there. Did also manage to mulch a couple of small borders too as they're getting very dusty and sad so a good drink and a dollop of poo should help :)

Could solve what to have for Sunday dinner.
@Victoria I look forward to seeing pictures of your Iochroma fuchsoides. I had nearly 100% germination with this and now have more plants than I know what to do with.
Old decking boards moved to side under conifers etc (will disappear under Ivy within a year or so), this afternoon have to move some staging from near greenhouse to the refurbished decking and then move pots of bulbs and plants that don't like the heat on to it.

Will do. I will make a mental note to tag you. Maybe you can make a little dense hedge? I am assuming they will live permanently outdoors with you.

@Upsydaisy I've been too busy working in the garden to come on here! :heehee:

I'm still doing the pressure washing :phew: but it's coming along well. Two hours a day for the last week. I was aiming at finishing by the end of the month and am on schedule.

I'm going to have to do mowing at some time in the not too distant future but shan't do it in this heat.

I've still been doing the daily bean winding and the courgette picking. Yesterday evening, after the sun had gone down Mrs Shiney and I filled a wheelie bin with bindweed. :rolleyespink:

Far too hot with no breeze here in Ramsgate.

Our local green bin collections are on hold as they have a driver shortage. Bit annoying but not worth the outcry that some people are spouting!
Have skipped digging compost but have seived some spare soil over a few dips in the lawn. Also been clearing under the chopped rhodys and have lots of spare plants now!
Finally sat with my feet in the paddling pool while the kids beat hell out of each other. So glad the school has broken up for summer.

Potted on the rest of the wallflowers and later watering.

Yesterday worked through checking and repotting the autumn and spring flowering crocuses. snowdrops and a few other things that like cooler conditions in summer than the greenhouse and immediate environs. Pleasantly surprised to find only two pots had nothing in them.
Today sweep pine needles off flat roof, then potter, then cut grass and given the cooler weather maybe less watering this evening.

Had a lot of plans today but got very little done, just the deadheading. Feel like I've only just started to recover from the heatwave. Was delighted to spot the first ever Green-veined White butterfly in my back garden! That takes me up to 15 different species, not bad for a rather small suburban garden! :) Right, aiming for 20 now!

At the moment just picking a lot of the fruit. Picked some more redcurrants and gooseberries.
